fronzelneekburm: ROMs for online for FREE
You can get any game or software that is not "always online" for FREE if you look hard enough and are morally amorphous.

fronzelneekburm: now Steam-exclusive
True, for now. But can change

fronzelneekburm: $20 price tag
Entirely subjective as some above have clearly stated they will pay $20 gladly.
Would be amazing to see these on GOG. I'm REALLY looking forward to the Contra collection, and hoping Hard Corps and Shattered Soldier make the list. Would love Hard Corps Uprising too, but there's almost no chance of that one happening (but who knows? Maybe it'll get a stand alone release if Konami really are back).

Eh, I just realized it's April 18th now (well, in my part of the world). Something to look forward to!

EDIT: Recommended specs: GTX 750TI... erm, for 30 year old games?

After owning all the Sega Classics Collections, a bunch of Neo Geos (bad emulation btw) and the first Megaman Collection, I have come to the realization that these old console games are just not for me. I much prefer the better of the various retro style indie games for action/platformers, and I just plain suck at shmups of all kind that aren't Tyrian.

I've heard that the MegaMan collection is just a total mess and I'm hoping they learn from that.

But the real reason I'm posting is, have you hard anything about these KONAMI classics coming to Steam? The date in here was 4/18 but nothing was released over there yesterday.

I can always play Contra on an emulator but at the very least I am curious about this.

Anniversary Collection Arcade Classics released first on 4/18, Castlevania and Contra collections will be released early summer.

THANK YOU :D
wish konami would release there old pro evo games here
I have the Konami PC collection on disc that includes: CV1-3 and Contra with Super C.

So basically with the mainline I'm good as I have the SNES classic, bought Rondo Of Blood and will be getting the Genesis Mini which includes "Contra: Hard Corp" and "Castlevania: Bloodlines".
All of these I will end up playing on an FPGA or on original system since I purchased non-commercial license rights in this way.

YAAAAAAAAAY!
Hey, it's not like this release will stop you pirating them so what's to complain about?
