GameRager: I use D3D window myself.....with it you pick the game(the main exe) and enter parameters like window size/various tech tweaks/etc. Once configured right you then highlight the game's title in the D3D window app and hit the little button that looks like an old style computer.

I forget what I did to get it to work but I would just be happy if it works...even in a window or at a different resolution. Just my two cents.

stalkerd: I tried dxwnd it didn't work, where can you download D3D window?
My bad....it was/is called D3DWindower....and it was a japanese program that was made into an english version. I found a copy here through google: Maybe it'll work......if you need more info on how to set it up just ask....though I don't know if it will work for this game 100%(it is worth a try, though, and it DOES WORK for other games i've played like spiderweb games/etc....so even if it doesn't work for that game it might work for others you own).
I made a Windows 10 and 11 Patch for Kiss Psycho Circus The Nightmare Child

Download in Nexus "Kiss Psycho Circus The Nightmare Child (Windows 10 Patch)"

I think it's related to High Monitor Resolutions! I am not sure the max resolution it works the max I tested was 1366x768. What is your monitor resolution? Did you try running "psycho.exe" then in the launcher menu click at [DISPLAY] button and test some other resolutions?

Its 1920x1080. Ich tried lower and higher ones, the best is a blackscreen with nothing happening. I tried 60hz too and different compatibility options.
When i use the DDraw.dll in conjunction with the D3DImm.dll from DGVoodoo2 it works. But its stuttery and i cant use your fixes.

It means your Video Card or Video Resolution is not compatible to ddraw.dll from DDrawCompat by narzoul. so I can't help cause it's a hardware problem... Narzoul keeps updating his DDrawCompat so check for new versions in his github maybe one day he fixes this problem ;)

Hi there is another thing I forgot to say you need to install and Activate "DirectPlay" in Windows 10 or 11 to play it or else you will have this black screen

If your problem is not hardware but lack of essential software it's important to know that when you get a fresh PC with Windows 10 or 11 a lot of softwares need to be installed for old games be compatible, so you always have to install the following softwares:

-Install and Activate DirectPlay (It's essential to play KPC in Win 10 and 11)
-Install DirectX 9.0c DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010)
-Install Visual C++ Redistributable Runtimes All-in-One
-Install K-Lite Codec Pack Full
-Install nGlide - Glide wrapper
-Install and Activate .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1
-Disable Windows DEP (Data Execution Prevention) for the game executable in case the "psycho.exe"

Felizzpe, does your patch require the game be on the C drive for installation? I tried it out, but still get the small black lithtech window that closes after a few seconds. Have all the other bits installed that you mention, but no luck.

It's too bad this game isn't on GOG. I remember it fondly.
Seems there are some problems with the Win 10 Patch.

You either have to make a choice between a big HUD or mousewheel weapon swapping.

1) Game + Win 10 Patch
Allows for big HUD but no mousewheel weapon swapping.

2) Game + Official Patches + Win 10 Patch
Allows for mousewheel weapon swapping, but small HUD.

Is there a way to have both?

Boo me all y'all want but the Dreamcast port was a blast!
I've been getting seemingly random crashes to desktop as well, with every regular patch + Windows 10 patch applied. It must have something to do with some compatibility flags etc. Windows is setting, because sometimes the game has launched without issues after I deleted a registry entry or renamed the exe or anything else, though I've never succeeded at reproducing this..! The crazy thing being that once the game does launch, it will never launch a second time after that.
The most recent thing I did was to delete my .cfg file from the profile folder, the game launched, I quit the game, and then I tried to launch it again, it failed. Then I deleted the .cfg file again, tried to launch the game, and this time it didn't launch!

EDIT: Using this dinput.dll
https://github.com/elishacloud/dxwrapper/issues/30
for another Lithtech engine game (Aliens vs. Predator 2) seems to have fixed the issue, at the expense of a smooth framerate... I'm just wondering how a dinput.dll relating to mouse input could have fixed a crash upon startup..?
