Hi,

Has someone experiencing the cutting edge support with this stupid bot???
It's absolutely impossible to get support at all!!!
It seems GOG does not want to give support to anyone at all!!!
Should we make a petition to remove this "awesome" feature???
Really? Is this a joke???

Just for the context. "Narito Boy" is in giveaway but I can't add it to my account.
This boy was annoying but now it makes it impossible to enter a support ticket.

Cheers
Chris

How are you trying to get it ?

On the frontpage scroll down a bit from the carousel and there's a banner for the giveaway - claim it there.
I have only used the support bot once, but it allowed me to open a ticket.
When I click on "giveaway" it asks me to log in although I'm already logged in. I enter my credentials and the site takes me to the main page without adding the game.

Note this is not the first time the site asks me for my credentials while I'm already logged in. This happens every now and then so not much trouble until now.

It seems writing to support@gog.com is the way to go (and avoid this bot).

2 months ago it was a PITA to get past the bot but now it's impossible to enter a ticket.
It's astonishing how this bot is useless. I'm wondering how the company behind it could have sell this thing.
Fortunately support@gog.com was the way to go which created a ticket which I can access now.
Nice, welcome back to web 1.0. Hope that I'll get this game before the giveaway gets over. :/

You can read directions for creating a support ticket from a staff member. If the problem persists, you can try directly e-mailing support (at) gog (dot) com.
However, you will almost certainly not get a response -- nevermind a solution -- before the giveaway expires in under 48 hours.

You can vote for Remove chat bot - worthless garbage in the community wishlist, though it would probably be better to create a new wish without the antagonistic phrasing.

Some things you can try:
• Go to your subscriptions and make sure you're subscribed to everything before trying to claim the game.
• In the past, it's been impossible to claim a game by clicking the big button, but clicking the empty space inside the giant banner worked (I had no such problem with this giveaway).
• Try either GOG Galaxy (the Discover category has a banner that loads the homepage with the giveaway), or a different web browser with default settings and no add-ons.
• If you're seeing "Success! Narita Boy will be added to your account soon. Enjoy!" but it's still missing from your library, open the refresh link in a new tab while logged into a web browser.

Sounds like a cookie problem. Definitely try suggestion #3 so you don't have to deal with possibly faulty browser settings or add-ons.
If you miss the giveaway, check the community giveaway as there are usually a few copies of such games available there. The ninja giveaway is another option, if you can watch the thread frequently and patiently enough.

1) I had already entered tickets w/o problem in the past it's getting worse
support@gog.com seems fine and yeah the giveaway will be over much before I get an answer
I'm amazed how they close the thread. Putting fault on users.
2) Thanks for the links. I added my voice. We're are 2 now. The revolution begins hahaha
3) Giveaway always worked in the past until now. And still not in my library.
4) It doesn't seem to be a cookies problem as I can add and remove games int my whishlist. So it's another problem.
Anyway thanks a lot for the answers and links.

In case it's a page asset not loading in time and it's fouling up your login credentials, you could try claiming via a direct link.
https://www.gog.com/giveaway/claim

I can't claim that it works, I've never had the need to try it. But if you can't get through the bot, you could give it a go as a last resort.

Hi,
I went to https://www.gog.com/giveaway/claim and I don't know how but it worked! Thanks a lot!!!
That won't make me friend with the bot though ;)

bots have feelings to...
I managed to get the bot to direct my help request to a ticket and after 2 months still no reply from support, Gog support is a joke at this point.

titan38: KILL THIS BOT!!!
Good luck with that!

I've been on record as early as January this year that the best way of action would be to nuke The Chatbot™ from orbit. Instead, gog made it even more prevalent.

It's probably doing its actual job well enough: Annoy paying customers to the point where they just give up trying to get an actual human on the line.
I'm glad it worked out.

If you haven't already, post a polite reply to your support ticket with a reminder that you've waited a very long time. Many have reported "bumping" the support ticket in the queue like this results in a response.

The chatbot was supposed to be in a testing phase until mid-2022, with removal as a definite possibility. We've had no updates since the original announcement. From what I've seen on the forum, support ticket wait times haven't improved.

At our farm "anything functional put into place temporarily ends up being permanent". GOG seems to follow a similar thread - a few things here which are technically "dead" still lingers (Connect for example).

I doubt they'll remove the bot unless it breaks.

Yes, GOG pages tend to do that sometimes, at least on not very powerful machines. I guess they are so JavaScript-heavy that a lot of stuff is going on in the background. Waiting for several seconds after a page is loaded and before clicking anything usually works for me.
Yesterday evening the bot created a ticket for me after only 4 questions (and replies by me). So I guess it was successful (in creating the ticket). Let's see how the solution will emerge. Although I think my matter was simple enough. It was about a review I wrote that I wasn't mentioned as "verified owner" of that game (while I own that game on GOG of course).
