Figured as much. You've really gotta' watch out for that these days, games which thrive on encouraging the player to figure things out for themselves are pretty rare, but information about them is everywhere, as is the temptation to use it. Ruined Dark Souls for myself. :/

A hint about the price would be nice, but more so the time of release, so I can rush back to grab it asap if all goes well :D

The other half is figuring it out, and many gameplay and tutorial videos kinda spoil it.

2 important things that are not covered by the tutorials
- Right click is your friend. You can right click on a part to activate special functions (VERY important for science equipment during the science and full campaigns. Try them all everywhere), on a kerbonaut to have him repair a damaged part, plant a flag or pick up samples, on a building to upgrade it...
- It's better to start with science campaign. If you start a full campaign, some useful tools that you get used to in the tutorials will be locked until you build up your base, and money will force you to take missions that will ask you to do things in very specific circumstances. It's really "hard mode", so try it only when you know how to build and pilot a craft. Sandbox play is easy too, but it unlocks all parts at the start without giving you any objectives, so you might be overwhelmed. I think of science mode as the tutorial campaign.
enjoy your explosions ;)

I don't know if there was an official announcement yet, but using some dubious methods, I found the price seems to be $39.99. I hope there's a launch discount, at least.

Well, their policy always have been "start with a low price, and up it every time we add something", which sounds sensible for an early access game (you buy the game while it's not complete yet? You pay less)
But there has been 40% promos in the past, so a launch discount is possible.

Nah. It ran out of fuel halfway. Now it's stranded on an eliptical orbit around the sun.
"But hey, the view is nice"*
* last recorded transmission from The munlander 2 Mun (moon) mission, before the battery ran out of energy (Still better than munlander 1's "Uh, did anyone remember to compensate for Mun's spin? Lateral speed seems a little too *Kshhhh*")
