I've noticed today that I've been getting a lot of notifications about a bunch of games I own getting updates installed.
Not new games, but things like Duke Nukem II, and Warsow.

I'm just a bit curious about it; anyone know why I'd be getting updates for a bunch of old games all of a sudden?
Don't know why, but I always laugh when the changelog points the last update to be from more than a year ago, even though it's marked as recently updated in the library.

A while ago Mac OSX received an update that ended support for 32bit software causing lots of software (including games, of course) to break over night.

Since then there have been many updates for Mac games to get them running on the latest OSX again.

How they do that? Cause I don't expect someone actually port such old games to 64bit just for Apple.

I guess that were mostly (ior more likely all) old games that weren't real Mac versions but rather DOS games that were supported through an old 32bit DOSBox and got repackaged with an 64bit DOSBox.
If we are talking about Mac games, some surprisingly old ones actually did recieve compatibility updates from the developers.

Maybe some old Windows stuff recently broke and a fix was now implemented by GOG? After all, they are trying to make sure they run in modern Windows (= 10).

A lof of demos have been offered here lately and most of my updates have been those.

Okay, but I'm running windows.
Hell, I'm still running Windows 7.

You still have access to the installers for those versions, so you would still get notification of those updates.

Oh! Well that makes sense actually.
