I just found an old copy of these two games. Has any one got any experience with them on windows 7? It'd be great to show my kids these games. :)

Sure, they work fine with DOSbox! :)
I remember I had to give up getting Desert Strike to run on my first PC. It required 620 KB free memory, and no matter how much I fiddled with autoexec.bat and config.sys, I couldn't squeeze more than 618 KB out of my machine.

I did try but my lack of knowledge with the thing is just not helping.

I have to go now, I'll back in the evening (~8 hours). If nobody helps you by then, I'll gladly do. Just please write which version you have? CD I assume?

OK, let's do it. I assume your CD-ROM drive letter is D: and you want to install the game to C:\Games folder. I'll always make those two things in bold so that you know that you can change them to anything you desire. Don't change anything that is not bold.

Lunch DOSbox, type two commands:
MOUNT D D:\ -t cdrom
MOUNT C C:\Games
This will mount your physical CD-ROM as a virtual CD-ROM in DOSbox and mount folder C:\Games as a virtual HDD in DOSbox which means DOSbox will only operate within C:\Games folder.

Now type
D:
which will move you to your newly mounted CD-ROM. Check the name of the installation file (you can do it from windows) it should be something like install.exe or setup.exe and type this file name so:
install.exe / setup.exe
Follow the install instructions. Change the installation path to "C:\Jungle" don't worry if you mounted HDD as I wrote the game will be installed to C:\Games\Jungle.

When the installation is complete you have to go to where you installed it so type following commands:
C:
cd Jungle
Jungle.exe (I assume it's the name of exe file, check it to be sure)

Enjoy your game :) Later on you don't have to install the game again so to lunch it type only:
MOUNT D D:\ -t cdrom
MOUNT C C:\Games
C:
cd Jungle
Jungle.exe

That's it :)
Is there any chance GOG could get the Strike series? They were great helicopter games!

Absolutely no chance.

However, assuming EA still has the rights, there is a chance. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strike_series#Games
