LGR's review of Jetpack Christmas special. He talks about the original game too, so this is a good place to start if you are unfamiliar with Jetpack.

When I saw Jetpack I automatically thought of this Spectrum classic.

The DRMfreeness the developers promote on their site is al lie. I bought it.

The first thing is, you have to be connected to the internet wether you play it in your browser or the downloaded Windows version.

Second thing is that the game is based on Adobe Air, the same thing the developers of Defender's Quest used first. There were so many complaints here on GOG, because Adobe Air sends some data to the developers through the internet, maybe for statistics ...

I can see why GOG rejected this game although gameplaywise it's a nice game.

Offline play has already been brought up in the JetpackHQ forum

Looks like the game's price was permanently lowered from $20 to $14.95 at some point. http://www.jetpackhq.com/store/jetpack-2/8-jetpack-2.html

I already played it. My husband recently put not her money and now I have excellent conditions that would pump my character
Game was released 1 year ago Sunday, so I suppose it's as good a time as any to necro this thread... don't forget the wishlist entry!

Plus it looks like development is getting back on track; dev posted just a few days ago that he will start working on a DRM-free/offline version of the game, since he "finally doesn't have a job." Kind of late, given that the game was released 1 year ago and had no updates since then, and the DRM issue was brought up at the time of release. But at least he seems to be back at it...

Some sad news, though: it looks like there isn't going to be a native version for Mac/Linux, due to lack of interest in Jetpack. :(

I do not know Jetpack, but I know Jetpac.
Well, now that's a trip down memory lane...

Fairfox: ...does it play bettah than it looks? :/
It's a tricky game, especially with the new physics engine in comparison to the original Jetpack, but IMO it plays very well. : ) It just takes some getting used to.

Jetpack 2 can be played online (in-browser, requires Flash) at JetpackHQ.com, so you can easily try it before you buy it. Non-registered users who haven't bought the game can play with limited access but you can still get a feel for how it plays.

Yeah I wish he'd just issue a patched version right when the online-only issue was brought up. Heck, it's been a whole year; is it really that hard just to remove the DRM and put out a patch? I'm no programmer, but I'm still kind of puzzled with how long it's taken the guy to do this.

If he finally doesn't have a job like he just stated, then he really has no excuse now
