The dual phase lightsaber was interesting as well.
To be honest I always found the Jedi order a bunch of elitist tightasses, wether they were on the good or bad side didn't matter much. This is why I liked Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Kyle Katarn more before they became Jedi's. The Jedi powers, while fun to use at times, made them rather overpowered against regular opponents.
I prefer a blaster over a lightsabre, the force powers are fun to use though.
jedi is hype
If there's no lightsaber in starwars, was there a point on it being Star Wars to begin with?

Well, considering that TIE Fighter is the best and ultimate Star Wars game (that's not up to discussion) even though it doesn't have lightsabres...

Does a TIE Fighter or Lightsaber have the best sound? My vote is for the TIE Fighter.
I should have stayed in bed. :P
This is getting somewhat off topic, but who would want to fly a TIE Fighter, if you can fly an X-Wing?

I think I'd also vote for the TIE Fighter sound if I had to choose. :D

Who would fly an X-Wing if you can fly a TIE Defender?

Because
a)X-Wings are awesome
and
b)TIEs are for imperials, so fuck that
I'll just take the Sun Crusher...

That's apparently what Georgie-boy Lucas thought, and look how awesome the prequels turned out....

Battered freighters dodging asteroids while being pursued by enemy ships; running blaster battles through spaceship corridors; mysterious bounty hunters; large-scale planetary invasions and space battles; smugglers conducting negotiations in seedy environs: all of these things are every bit as quintessentially 'Star Wars' as lightsaber fights and force powers and bad guys in masks and capes.

Oh yeah, because intergalactic peace and order are a bad thing... rebel scum.
Well, Dark Forces II is actually the first shooter I ever played, aged 10, and I must say I mostly used a combination of the force powers and regular weaponry; A bit like a Duskblade in D&D, who uses both magic and mundane weaponry in combination. (which I think is really cool, although the class supposedly sucks hard)

I often just pulled out the lightsaber to clear a small room full of badies in a flurry of limbs and screams, but on my last playthrough about a year ago I found it really lost some usefulness at the highest difficulty, when it takes two hits to saber enemies to death (which meant they could always pop of a few nasty shots in between swings).

Force on the go, blasters for a pro, if you know what I mean ;)

I really like however how the meleeing wasn't just press "f" to insta-stabkill an enemy, god I hate that...

And Long live the Empire!!

If you Rebels and Assorted scumbags weren't there to disturb the peace we wouldn't have to be so harsh and totalitarian in our domestic policies in the first place would we?!

And does anyone else here think Grand Moff Tarkinn is way cooler than Darth Vader? :p
