I had the same problem with JJ2 and somehow got it to work. I have an acer 575g laptop with gt940mx gpu and integrated graphics. Spent an hour trying to get it to work last night However it works perfect on my desktop... I have no idea why it wont start. I'm pretty good with computers and surprised I cant get it to work. Can someone please tell me what might be wrong with it? Reisnstalled as admin tried using gog galaxy same issue every time. Like I said the origional jazz jackrabbit 2 is now working but not christmas chronichles...

i have the same problem, i dont know how but after having trouble with jazz jackrabbit 2 it some how started to work and i can play it ,but not the chrismas chronicles im still looking how to get it to work. did you find a solution ? i have a windows 7 64 bit , i try'd all the compatible modes but non work i also excluded it from my anti virus but thats not helping . i hope some one can tell me what to , it would be nice to be able to play it during the holidays now

Try tweaking the config so it doesn't start in fullscreen.

Alternately, try an open source engine implementation. Like OpenJazz.

Yes actually I did fix it. It actually has to do with windows defender. You have to turn off data execution prevention. Go to the bottom left of your screen in windows. Click on the up arrow then some icons will appear around where you clicked. Then click on the shield icon (That's windows defender) Then click on app and browser control. Scroll all the way down to exploit protection. click on it Then find data execution prevention (DEP) Set it to off and it should work. If you have issues with crashing on jazz jackrabbit 2 the secret files (I did it would crash when loading a game, Christmas chronicles didn't have that issue) download gog galaxy click on library find jazz jackrabbit 2 click on settings. find channels and select jj2+mod. That will download a mod for jazz jackrabbit 2. All it does is have bug fixes and a few improvements. turning of data execution prevention will get both games working. However I just realized you run windows 7. I run 10. You can still turn it off though. Just don't know if it can be done in windows defender. It might be in the control panel under system-advanced.
