Two Step Authorization to add funds to my wallet is WAY OVER THE TOP! If someone were to steal my account then I'm sure that all the receipts I have would be proof enough to get it back. But to add funds to my wallet is not going to happen jumping through hoops just because GOG thinks they are keeping my account safe. So,GOG get rid of that idiotic safety net and let me buy more games because as you are stubborn enough to leave it that way then I refuse to use it and brother, you ain't met someone as stubborn as me!
It isn't risk, it's Stratego.

Also, you can disable that in your account settings.

What I'd really prefer is if GOG signed up with an actual 2FA provider.
I wish we had Risk on GOG...

I know people usually find this quite difficult to understand, but these kind of things usually are not about *you*.

GOG is the one that gets in trouble if it's hit by an increasing number of chargebacks. Doesn't even matter if you're in the right or wrong for doing a chargeback, GOG's rating goes down exponentially the more of them it gets. Not only does it cost them money but some payment services will stop doing business alltogether with companies that suffer too many chargebacks.

So I don't find it strange at all that there's an ownership check at that point.

This may seem strange but it would take a lot of so called chargebacks to effect them or any other site for that matter.

It would likely be a percentage of their traffic. Every single one adds up. No one is saying you alone would make up that entire spectrum

what are you talking about, OP? Added funds few days ago, account isnt linked to mobile phone. Had no problems. Or did you mean some other two-factor auth?
