With the back to school sale in full swing, I wanted to pick up Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition. Though, I've read plenty of posts concerning the bugs that are present in this new edition. Seeing that the game has been out for about a year now, have the major issues been fixed or should I continue to pass on this game?

One issue that has definitely not been resolved with the current GOG build, is that there are no visible command prompts if you are using a gamepad.

That's unfortunate...well thanks for the info. Guess they never cared enough to go back and fix it.

The game crashes hard for me at times, completely rebooting the computer. Only game that has managed to do that on my system in 3.5 years. Ultimately that points to underlying operating system or driver bugs as user applications don't have privileges to perform operations that could result in the computer rebooting, but the underlying technical details don't change the end result, which is really irritating regardless of what is to be actually blamed for the problem.

The game also has serious problems with the Galaxy overlay.
