Cyker: When you say you got Mech3 working, do you mean fully working?
I've never gotten it to work properly on any of my machines other than my Win98 machine; On the rest, ranging from Win2000 to Win7, it wither outright crashes, or the game becomes full of bugs ranging from frustrating (Missile turret objectives don't get drawn so mission uncompletable) to irritating (UI elements don't line up properly, e.g. Zoom reticle) to hilarious (APCs/Enemy Mechs/Allied Mechs/My Mech get suddenly and randomly launched high into the air)
I haven't played it in ages even tho IMHO it's the best of the MechWarrior games just because I can't get it to work properly, although it is fun dusting off the Win98 box and plugging in the ol' Sidewinder 3D Pro sometimes!
Yes, although I had results with dgvoodoo after applying the newest patch to the game. Truth be told, I was utterly sceptical at the beginning (that so old patch can help). But by some reason - when I've used dgvoodoo files on the patched game, it finally worked normally.
Elmofongo: Hey I got Mechwarrior 2 and the Mercs expansion working with with DOSBOX.
But for some reason Mechwarrior 2 itself has this issue with no sound at all.
The Mercs expansion does have audio however so I don't know what gives.
I admit that I don't know how to fix it, didn't experience such issue in my case. Perhaps it's connected somehow with the version of the game, I've read on the Mech2 forum that there are plenty of releases:
http://www.mech2.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=281 So it may also influence on their "compatibility. Anyway, here are some additional hints about MW 2 launching:
http://www.mech2.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=806 I can't tell though how efficient they're in practice, since I've used only MechVM.
