i do have spell force platinum on a disc so i am curious is there any way to reclaim it on a digital version from gog?
it would be amazing feature ngl
but i do see the downside of possibility of people borrowing games to eachother for them to claim the game
so i am simply just asking without expecting much

There used to be a feature like that, but it was only for a relatively small number of titles and I'm pretty sure it's been defunct for years.

niszyciel: *snip*
If I remember correctly you could redeem the older STALKER CD-keys a few years ago but I don't know whether it's still possible.

Been gone since at least 2021.

I want to say it's been closer to 2019/2020....
And that relatively small number was literally like ten or less. There was Witcher 1 & 2, STALKER trilogy, Torchlight 1 & 2 I believe, and maybe one or two more.
Very few titles and only if purchased in very specific ways, see a snapshot, or the screenshot if that won't load right.
This is separate from the "backup copy" of The Witcher 1 and 2, which seems to still be available. Or at least that's what the support page says, and the page is still up.

Notably different than the claim your game option where if you owned it on steam, you got it here.

That was a whole different animal, and was nice, even if GOG lost its lunch on the deal.

There actually is such a way: simply rebuy those games here.

Yes, I know: that's probably not, what you want to hear, but that's the only way GOG makes any money of this, to keep them into business.

And if it's any solace: "Spellforce Platinum" is regularily on sale for as low as $2,50 - the last time was just ten days ago.

GOG used to have a Claim page, with about half a dozen or so games on it.

I used that for a couple of my S.T.A.L.K.E.R games and maybe one or two others.

You had to provide the serial number from your DVD box, so that could only be used once to claim.

If you want to see what the page was like, just check it out on the Wayback Machine for GOG. Go back to around 2017 (when I used it) and maybe 2018. I forget when they disabled it.

So you have a retail copy of The Witcher 1 or The Witcher 2, or a Steam copy redeemed there no later than on March 16 2022, entered the product code and it didn't work?

Spellforce was never among the included games, I added a link and a screenshot with the full list of what was in that program, and currently the support page says that it'd only still apply for The Witcher 1 and 2.
