You can track your games based on the digital provider on Completionator! Something that's been requested that's on my radar screen is a report or something that highlights the games you own in multiple formats. I know that's not necessarily what you were asking for in your original post, but when I thought about "comparing accounts", I was reminded of that feature request :)

blotunga: Those are two different things. I am rather social-media shy and i don't really like to give out information about my life... and nobody should of course.
Not really, by advocating google whatever ;) you could give a wrong impression. Hey if it is OK to share sensitive information why not share other information. Google, as any big corporation can not be trusted (think of NSA/patriotic act and similar).

Once you put information out, it is nearly impossible to contain it again.

You say "and i don't really like to give out information about my life", but on the other hand give ´anybody´ (google i.e.) the possibility to maybe even damage you.

Bit over the top, but imagine with what is going on with NSA: They have their profiling list:

1.) Shooter game (check)
2.) Flight-simulator (check)
3.) Interested in chemicals (check)

and a few more points and suddenly you might be on a secret list ;)

That is another reason to be careful with using online services....you never know, how or where it is being used AGAINST you ;)

I know bit over the top ;)

According to your theory i should watch my back. I already own Spacechem and Crysis. Imagine if i also bought FSX. I might get on the CIA's hitlist.

So long you don´t own hitman you shall be OK ;) And no flight simulator! ;)
moho_00 beat me to it. I would second the website Completionator.

Yes, it's online, but here's why I think it's a good deal (besides being free)

You can import your Steam AND Gog libraries, THEN you can export into Excel. Now you have an offline list prepared with all your games without the tedium of data entry.

If you prefer, just close your account (and put your tinfoil hat back on), or keep it around. It has a good amount of filtering and search capabilities, as well as if you want to keep track of your progress in finishing your games.

I'm pretty sure it's not run by the Man, the Corporations, or the Yakuza!

Haha nope, it's not run by any of those ;) In fact, your post made me think of something in regards to closing your account. If this is something of interest, I could add a button that lets you close your account, which would permanently delete your collection or something. It's get a little tricky with other related items like forum posts and the site would lose statistics like completion times, but I'm sure I could figure out a way to handle it!
Completionator - sounds good, I didn't know that site. At first glance this site might be what I'm looking for, thank you, moho_00 and chadjenofsky. +rep. :)

Even if it's online and I'll have to let them see my games on Steam... ;)

I use darkadia. Very nice site with most games already logged, so you simply search based on title and add it to your library. You can tell it where each game resides (steam/gog/phsyical copy, etc). You can rate each game, mark them as finished with multiple ways to finish (i.e. completed, mastered, dominated, etc.). Has everything I need and is extremely easy to use. You can mark games as "playing", "favorites", etc. etc. etc. And since its online, you can access it anywhere without fear of losing it in a drive failure/format/copy/etc.

So, it doesn't scan your accounts for you, but its very easy to get your library up to date manually. Its free with some paid optional features. I have not paid yet and have access to all the options I would use. Once you set up each game (nice GUI, so its quick and easy) you can filter by any tag you want (such as GOG/Steam/completed/playing/favorite/etc).

Goodaltgamer: Never over do it online. If you need to do it make it with a local copy!
Perhaps Notepad++? I think there's a plugin that adds strong crypto so you never have to save the data unencrypted.

Not in my version, ok I haven't updated for quite a bit though ;)

And good point, for sensible files I zip them with password, adds another layer.

Cool, hope you like it! You can also mark your profile as private, so nobody can view it but you. You'll still show up in aggregated statistics and on community pages, but nobody will be able to just browse your collection. I've considered changing it so private profiles show up with "Private" instead of a username, but those that I have talked to that use private profiles haven't been too concerned about it, so I've focused on other stuff. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

I personally would be more interested in seeing something more compatible with a mobile browser--even minimal/text only interface, but I don't want you to do it if it means bending reality or some other Herculean task. I guess if I had to, I could always import the excel export into google docs.

PS - Thanks for always updating your site with new ideas! I love it!

I'm confused as to why a simple question of comparison tool for GOG and Steam accounts can become such complicated arguments.

OMG! I just went on your site and noticed you've updated it to be mobile-friendly!!! Thank you so very much! I hope it wasn't too difficult (but I'm sure for you, it was a labor of love anyway!)

Again, thanks for all the work you've put into the site.
