Hey, so after realizing how some developers screw over GOG customers by never delivering their newest patches to GOG versions of their games, I've started to be more wary about buying new games on GOG for fear of ending up with an effectively orphaned game without essential patches.

What are the easiest ways to tell what patch number the GOG version of a game is one? And is it possible to tell so without having purchased it beforehand? I tried looking around the storage pages a bit but couldn't really find anything.

EDIT: Sorry, thought the first post didn't go through. Use this thread instead: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/can_you_tell_what_version_a_gog_game_is_on_without_having_purchased_the_game

As you have duplicated your post, I will duplicate my answer here:

That's something that's a bit annoying: you can't see changelogs/versions and patches unless you have bought the game. There are however helpful Goggers who do post changelogs in the game specific forums, so you could try looking there if there are any posted.
yah bad practice from gogie; even steam has a section dedi cated to update news

but then if gogie do it, thatlll hi-lite just how behind they are for alot of gamies
Even if you've bought the game, you frequently can't see changelogs, since the developers have been providing them less and less often, at least for the games I have.

except with some games devs are stupid dicks that don't update info there.
I'm using the wonderful gogdb.org to keep me up2date, because sometimes GOG lacks to.
