My friend prefers games on GOG rather than Steam but I haven't been able to find any. Do they exist?
They don't exist. Paysafecard works just as well though.

Sadly, no. I've been advocating for them for ages now. The primary reason I still buy off of Steam more than GOG is because Steam has those cards in stores that make it so much easier for me -- a non-credit card holder -- to actually buy games. I've tried everything else except the Google/Apple options (as I'm really not sure how that works):

- Prepaid credit cards don't work because they don't allow transactions outside of the US
--- I've tried routing them through Paypal but it still won't work
- Paysafecard IS available but I'd have to drive 30+ minutes to the nearest vendor every time I want to buy games, which just isn't viable for me; I'd be spending more on gas than on the games in most cases

I only get to buy through GOG when a family member is gracious enough to let me use their credit card and I just reimburse them with cash. That's not a good experience, to be completely honest. I hate online shopping and credit cards, thus why I don't own one, which makes it exceptionally difficult to buy from GOG... not to mention it's rather humiliating to have to beg a family member to let me use their card every time I want to buy a game.

I love GOG but they REALLY need to look into doing that. After all, GOG is so keenly focused on being DRM-free and valuing users' freedom to choose. Why not give us one more avenue to do so? I'm literally promising them right now: if they had wallet cards like Steam has, I would buy exclusively from GOG unless a game wasn't available here. I'd even consider buying a second copy on GOG of games I already own on other platforms, just to have a DRM-free copy and to support the company. I just don't have the means to do so until some sort of payment method that I can use is made available.

No, and I doubt the logistics would be worth it.

Wow! I had no idea it could be that hard on the US.

I'm thinking that you could use the lended credit cards to charge up your GOG wallet. I know that is less than ideal since you would have to charge greater amounts, but wouldn't that ease your situation a bit and make you have credit for flash deals, for instance?

It's funny you mention that as I was thinking about that after I made my initial comment. I'll have to look into it, thanks!
No thanks as taxes would likely be added and that can piss off, esp. since I have to pay it on groceries ffs.

No, they don't.

For GOG, their payment processor is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, so you cannot use Visa giftcards on GOG, due to some Federal law that prohibits US-based gift cards on foreign sites.

You can use Amex gift cards, which will work for non-USA based financial transactions.

You can also use Visa Debit cards with GOG after you register a physical address (your home address) with Visa. Follow the instructions on the Visa Debit Card in order to do that.

I don't understand why they still haven't found another way for people in the US to buy from GOG.
This site would likely be the main site I buy games from if it hadn't been for the fact that prepaid cards don't work.
Because they don't, I end up buying mostly from Steam, and lately, I haven't bought anything from here.

I only do my buying directly from GOG (although considering Epic) but it is far easier to build a library on Steam or Epic.

Epic gives a free game every week which can really build up your library. Steam is honestly the same due to humble bundles and the many different sources where you can get steam keys for cheap. It does seem that alot of gamers want all their games on one platform, hence why many seem to choose steam despite the DRM.

I am surprised at the love many have for Steam though (and the hate that results for Epic).

I agree entirely. GOG seriously needs to just work with FastCard (the makers of the Steam cards) and get these to market over here. Not only would it make it easier for people like myself to buy games on GOG but also, having the GOG name and logo on a card near Steam might make people a bit curious about the platform if they've never heard it before.

In general, I just wish they'd do this because as I said in a previous post here, I'd 100% switch to GOG only if they had these cards (except in the cases when a game is only on Steam or EGS). I'd even re-buy some games I already have on Steam or EGS just to have a DRM-free copy and to show my support. Those Steam wallet cards are literally the only reason I still shop a lot with Steam and I'd switch in a heartbeat if GOG wallet cards became available.
If anyone wants to know. You can buy PaySafeCard tickets in any CVS pharmacy that has a moneygram kiosk. Pretty sure any moneygram kiosk at any location really.

But it is truly convoluted process getting it to work and even doing it correctly can cause errors.

Plus another problem with the company. You have to use it for exact specific denominations of currency, even though it asks you down to the penny what denomination you would like.

I think the range is $10, 25, 50 and 100. That said, yet another caveat to it. When you pay for something the remaining amount now belongs to PaySafeCard. No bullsh!t. Once the ticket is used once, the remaining balance they keep lol

Say you have $100 on the ticket. You bought $2 of whatever. They keep $98. Nice company. So make god damn certain if you do use them, to dump the entire amount into your Wallet on the site.

I could have explained the how to buy it. But in all honesty, it feels like chore to do it, you should use anything else as a form of payment if you can.

The hate for Epic likely boils down to the fact that they paid to make games exclusive, and that they're basically owned by Tencent (40%).

As for Steam, there's not been much reason to hate them, since the sales are good, the policies seem to be okay and it's quite popular.

Yeah, I'd buy GOG.com cards if the cards made it possible to buy from them in the US.
If they made those, I'd probably also re-buy several games and buy games mainly from GOG.com.

PaySafeCard sounds like a nightmare.
Reading that makes me glad that I never got one of those.
Thank you for telling what problems the cards have.

Yeah, the only thing I think you could do with that where they don't keep it is to spend the card's whole amount on GOG wallet credit. It's still not ideal but it'd be better than PaySafeCard keeping the rest.
