I would like to know if it is possible to create a backup of my GOG profile by e.g. creating a backup registry on my PC?
I don't mean backing up the actual games themselves on media, just the profile.

What is it you want to backup? The profile (achievements, game time, chat...) is mostly stored on GOG's servers, so all you need is your login.

Yes, all of those things but more importantly the list of games that I purchased.

Being able to download a zip with xml's might be nice. Chats (seemingly impossible to extract), games and dates purchased/got/gifted/won/etc and order numbers, etc.

Hopefully it could be something you could re-upload, so it can't be something that affects that games you have unless it's somehow verified, maybe a signed PGP block that has the games plus the account ID attached so you can't give the code/xml to someone else to upload.

And if i had all my forum posts/replies i could do a quick search for specific posts for something i did in the past, and that could be nice, better than their current search options.

For what end?

You can asked for all data stored about you, since GOG is EU based. You will probably get a zip-file with xml or json. Parsing it is up to you though.
