Curious to see which one the GOG community prefers.

I grew up with consoles so FO3 was the first one I played and I quickly lost interest after the intro. Played FO1 and 2 years later here on GOG and was surprised with how much I loved it. So I guess Bethesda's style of design doesn't do much for me and I discovered a love for isometric turn-based RPGs, that's one vote for the Interplay-era games.

Which ones do you like best?
Interplay forever.

Bethesda sux.
Loved Fallout 1 and figured I wouldn't really care for Fallout 3. But recently played through it, spending over 180 hours on it and more than half of that after hitting the level cap. I had a blast with FO3. Loved it.

Currently playing through Fallout 2 and not enjoying it nealy as much as 1 or 3. So I guess it's a crap shoot. Looking forward to see what FONV is like after I finish FO2.

I could not get into FO3, but NV grabbed me and was a lot of fun :)
The Obsidian FO:NV was almost as good a RPG as the first two Fallouts, considering the inherent disadvantages of the FPS style. And that makes sens,e since so much of the content was influenced by Van Buren, which was the original Fallout 3, before Interplay fell apart. Plus, being a Bethesda game, the modding capability is really quite excellent.

Considering the simple truth that an isometric, turn-based RPG cannot sell enough copies to make the kind of money studios need for a big release, I think Bethesda has done a really admirable job of keeping Fallout feeling like Fallout. The newer games are following in the footsteps of some of the finest RPGs ever made, and though they don't compare favorably, they're a damn sight better than no Fallout, which is what we had for years, and looked like what we'd have forever.

Fanbois gonna fanboi, though.

It's funny, I tried FO3 several times and couldn't get much further than Megaton before putting it aside. Then I read a thread here where someone (can't recall who it was offhand) said they were approaching it more as an open world exploration game rather than a full-blown RPG. So I grabbed a couple mods (just some UI stuff) and read a guide on creating a decent stealth character and went at it that way. Wow, what a ton of fun I had. I'm normally looking for the next level and the boost in abilities/skills/talents you get when levelling in RPGs. But, as noted, I spent more than half the game at max level and didn't care. I found it a ton of fun.
own them all, Played none

but if based it solely on extra's on GOG, i would choose interplay because classic has all sorts of stuff - that the bethesda editions do not
Only played a small amount of NV - all of FO3., while they were good, just not as good as 1 & 2.
So another vote for the Interplay era.
Interplay, e'ryday.

Bethesda games have been getting increasingly *less* over time. I blame consol-itis.
Interplay. The whole first person shooter (even with VATS) spoilt it for me.
I can't answer this question at the moment, because I dont have the new Fallout 4 and without that it is hard to judge the era.
Interplay, Blackisle Fallout of course.

I can't get past the first few hours of beth's games without getting bored and quitting. I have no interest in walking/exploration simulators.

Even though I barely played the classics (I weren't into RPGs then), my vote goes to Interplay era.

Bethesda just sucks!

FO3 still is unfixed for Win8 and 10 users, there are some tricks to make it run, but really, relying into the mod community to fix your game?

NV was good (thanks Obsidian!) but now with FO4 Bethesda is at it again: subpar graphics, not so good optimization, engine speed tied to framerate, using gameworks to ruin game experience for AMD users, and guess.... probably the modding community will fix it.
I've only played Fallout 1 a few years back and I enjoyed it a lot, but also had to use a walkthrough because I didn't find it clear what I was suppose to do or go. (Maybe one needed to take notes.)
