a whole computer in a "tiny" stick
http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2015/04/intels-compute-stick-a-full-pc-thats-tiny-in-size-and-performance/

and i am sure they will get even tinier
i think its kinda cool but just for the cool gadget factor
i've read about it and current implementation seems to be weak ...

yeah but thats nothing new for rev1 hardware
i usually wait for a rev 2 or 3 when all the kinks are worked out

right now its cool because its so small but not practical for anything other then a streamer box
Like my Raspberry Pi, only 4X more expensive... On the other hand the power supply input seems simpler, beyond that i'm not sure...

4x ram vs pi
2x cpu power...
x86 vs ARM...

I don't know... I'd rather have the Pi...

the average computer user is lazy though
they want convinience
they want ease of use
they want windows

what they dont want is an OS that is not windows
or making too much effort

Yeah... But as a computer in a stick, it doesn't really work like a laptop which functions on it's own (has battery, keyboard, touch-pad, monitor, plugins, etc), so unless it's a computer on the go you plug in while you're in a hotel room... the use of it is fairly low.

mostly a streamer stick
or a low cost pc for the kids or a starter pc
or if they physically lock the damn things down it could be great school computers
low cost and low maintenance

it has its uses we are just not the target audiance
i just think its cool cause its so small

Low cost starting PC... yeah i can see that... Each kid has their own PC stick, then you can remove monitors and have one computer. And if they get in trouble, you can take away their PC... :P

Assuming it can plug into most normal peripherals (keyboard, mouse, monitor) then it would be really cheap to start with since you can get second hand the parts you need to complete it... Seeing as it's HDMI output probably for video and sound, that means monitors won't have a huge secondary life...

Then there's military uses, in AIT you could have electronics as long as they fit within a certain size, i recall PS2-slims and tiny LCD screens being very popular back in 2005...

Dorm rooms... Same thing, take your PC with you and offer to sell to someone coming in your tv/keyboard/mouse so you don't have to lug that with you...

But it won't be good for gaming, not with high graphics games anyways... Hmmm....
see ?
more then enough uses

it has a bluetooth adapter and 1 usb 2.0 port so it can handel most thing just plug a hub in it
or just do it all wireless

stil it is very much a rev1.0 product

up the ram add in a second usb port and better bluetooth drivers ( they currently lag when the stick is under heavy load )
and it wil be great
for what it is

a low cost starter
a kids pc
a dorm pc
a school pc
and so on just not a gaming machine or a "power user " pc
I'm still not sure about its purpose and usage..
You plug it into a television, right? But.. to do what?

EDIT: ops, just read the post above this one :P

snowkatt: a dorm pc
That thing won't fit in the average dorm.

It'd be like going back to dial up, watching the porn load line by line... until someone picks up the phone (in this case tries to download anything else) and breaks the connection!

and you stay up all night and all you get to see are 8 pictures of naked girls.
