You won't notice any difference for the games you're talking about. Though one thing, if you go Ryzen and you really need it for older games more than modern AAA stuff then don't waste your money with an 8 core 7 series processor, they are actually slower when only using 2 cores than a 5 series CPU- all those unused cores still sap some power away from the cores you are actually using. For that matter even a 4 core will do the job fine - that's assuming you really are not interested in modern AAA games. Though the 4 core CPU's have slightly lower clock speed all around, the 5 series is the sweet spot for applications that can only use 1 or 2 cores.

AMD Ryzen more cost effective for now than Intel. You should prefer Ryzen anyway.

StingingVelvet: I know I read Mass Effect has issues with Ryzen, but I think someone made a fan patch that fixed it already. Also Deus Ex Mankind Divided made me disable half my cores or else it would freeze from time to time.
All newer processors from AMD have an error with 1st Mass Effect on 2 levels, because of amd proprietary stuff they havent included with newer processors, but the game tries to use cause the processors are still identified as authenticamd. 3dnow or something like that if i remember correctly.
It's fixed with this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect/mods/71/
