downloaded panzer general 3D assualt.

did the classic install (keep clicking 'Next' 'Yes' and 'I Agree'.) clicked 'play'. got the old 'do you want to allow this program to make changes to this device' box. no matter if i clicked 'yes' or 'no' it took me to a black screen.

stonewalled, i did what i wouldve done with these games in the 90s and 'uninstalled' and likewise just reinstall and it would work 100% of the time.

after uninstall, there was no option to reinstall, getting nowhere trying to backtrack.

what can i do? how bad was Uninstalling?

Have you tried throwing a grenade at it? That's what they did in the 40s.

A few things to try:

Restart your PC

Run the installer as admin

Save the game to somewhere besides Program Files (they should default to something like C:\GOG Games\Panzer Assault 3D\

This game has Windows 10 difficulties. It also has Intel graphics difficulties.

You may find more answers (or partial answers) here: https://www.gog.com/forum/panzer_general_series#1596014503

You can also try installing under Compatibility Mode. Or get really crafty and do a Windows 98 Virtual machine. :)

This game is officially supported for Win10, so be sure to contact Support.

Good luck!

What a confusing post. Start with, are you using galaxy (from your post things like press play sounds like you are launching galaxy). If so, grab the offline installers from the web page, then set your games there are two options a galaxy installer and then the offline installers. If you download the exe (and maybe some bin files) you can keep these. Run the exe and install to something other than program files or x86, say c:/mygames. Ensure you allow c++ or directx installs to run, and have enabled directplay in Windows (assuming you are on windows?). Run game from shortcut.
