hi

i've downloaded the crossover software trial, bought heroes from here, and i'm trying to download it (it's not that clear where to download so i'm clicking on 'Windows Installer English 2.0.0 942MB' and it's taking me to a 'safari does not recognise this page' and asking me if i want to search the app store.

i'm running mac os. yosemite.

can anyone help / has anyone else had this issue and how do i fix it?

Try turning the downloader mode to off, so you download through http instead.

Yeah, looks like you have the GOG Downloader option turned on in your account page (I think it's on by default).

As for the location of your download, it should be in ~/Downloads.

cheers guys, now as i'm trying to open up crossover, it partially loads and then automatically shuts down before i can open anything.

any ideas on that?

ok so now i've got past that bit and started installing it, i selected a folder (zipped crossover) and it failed on the install even though my mac said that crossover was simulating a windows reboot.

still an't open the game for some reason...

ok, so i just installed it and launched it, but can't find it anywhere on my mac now - all i have are the sounds and manuals but no icon to click on to launch the game.

suggestions welcome please!

So ... Crossover is just a program emulating Windows?

I think at this point, you would do well to review this illustrated tutorial on how to install and run unsupported applications (like the game you have here) on CrossOver. This will tell you not only how to install games, but how to launch them too. CrossOver is a commercial distribution/fork of the WINE project.
