Hi all,

I've encountered the dreaded infinite loading screen, during the Open Sesame quest. It happens at the beginning of the heist, after the cutscenes where Geralt and gang climb the tower to infiltrate the Borsodi estate. It happens right after they pick up the wooden swords. I've looked at this part in Youtube and it's when game is supposed to transition from the cutscene to player control.

Some info and how I've tried to diagnose:
Running Win10 x64 with GOG (non GOTY) with all DLC's, version 1.31A with 32 mods.

Steps to attempt to fix:

- Uninstall all mods and verify game files
- (then) stash all inventory at Novigrad
- (then) quick travel to Velen
- (then) ran safedevelop mod

- Reinistalled mods
- (then) load previous save game
- (then) choose different safecracker
- (then) ran cleardevelop command

Any ideas or suggestions on how I should proceed ? I'm really really sad, as I was enjoying immensily the HoS story. :(

Thanks,

PS: Additional info, never hurts:

Well the mention to Geralt gave it away really, however odds are, anyone talking on here about a "game" means Witcher 3.

As for the question, you would need to debug it yourself, even Support wont help. Try the base game, if that works fine, then start adding mods. It could be any of them you mention, a problem with the base game, or combinations thereof. Also, I assume your running Galaxy, try installing the game outside all windows folders, i.e. c:\games, just using the installer files - i.e. no telling what the client might be doing. But that is really the limit to where I can go here, install base, make sure its working, then install mods one by one. Note, you should in most cases be able to take multiple copies of your saves - i.e. get to a certain point then make a save and copy it, then install mod 1, try it, and keep doing so until you get the break.

Unfortunately no, the gog-forum is mostly unmanaged in this regard. Hence nobody will or is able to move the thread. You have to repost it there.

Thanks, I have done so.
It's your autoloot mod. When you go into the heist you are looting all your armor and weapons back but you aren't supposed to be using anything other than the wooden sword. Turn off autoloot in the settings and it'll load. I just fixed it for me. You can then turn it back on once it loads.

It would be nice if it works, and if the OP still needs this after a year. ;)
