It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Thiev: I managed to reproduce similar issue - not the exact one OP has experienced, but a reverse scenario:

- Going to Account -> Library -> Game [with both installer types]
--- Galaxy installers are shown as default, clicking on a link gives you a *_(g) file
- Switching to Classic installers via 'More..' option:
--- Classic installers message is shown, clicking on a link gives you a normal file
- Closing game view and opening it again (without reloading Library page):
--- Galaxy installers (name + message) are again shown as default *but* clicking on a link will give you a classic file instead

By all accounts it looks like a website glitch, but we are still looking into the problem mentioned by the OP. If any of you guys is able to find the steps to reproduce it then we would be very grateful if you could let us know, for any game.
Haha I've had a very similar bug when trying to modify the game cards with my script, because a single card is reused it can be quite tricky to iron out all the bugs.

I'll see what I can reproduce myself.

timppu: embedded Galaxy installers up to date, ie. will they keep changing all the game installers every time the Galaxy client receives an update
avatar
phaolo: ^ This will be terrible as long as Gog won't add a stub..
Well, as long as there are the classic installers without the same problem...

timppu: My main concern with the Galaxy-embedded installers all along has been the increased size, extra 120MB per game, not cool. Plus, how are they going to keep all those embedded Galaxy installers up to date, ie. will they keep changing all the game installers every time the Galaxy client receives an update, or what? (that would trigger e.g. gogrepo.py to redownload all those installers, all over again, as it detects they have changed).
Galaxy itself will auto-update when you first run it, so they don't really have to keep it up to date. Besides, didn't Destro already confirm that they plan to make the Galaxy installer a small stub eventually (to which you will need to be online for Galaxy to install or the installation will continue without installing Galaxy) and are temporally including Galaxy until that is ready?

Not maybe with every new version, but I'd figure having a very old (months, even years old) Galaxy installer might be a security problem, until it gets updated (e.g. if there was malware targetting specificically the old versions, even blocking them from auto-updating). Or the old client doesn't even launch properly due to some Windows update or whatever...

Also, from my experience these auto-update thingies tend to get broken at some point, ie. you can't update from any old version to the newest version. I'm in that situation with e.g. TOR browser now. It has a button which should update it to the latest version.... but after not having used it for a few months, that update just gives me an error and tells me I should redownload the installer and install it manually.

Would you feel comfortable installing a Galaxy client which was, say, five years old, and just hoping it will successfully auto-update to the latest version?

timppu: snip
I didn't say they should never have to update, of course they may want to update it when a significant version releases. They simply don't have to do It for every minor update.

Besides, again if they follow through with making Galaxy an stub installer as they have already said they plan to do then this really becomes irrelevant...

I can confirm that what you report is the case.
I'm not sure entirely how you load the different installers but from what I can tell you replace the actual URLs in the data. Now when you open and close the window this is not reverted (despite the Classic or Galaxy installer setting being reverted), so all you need is to make sure the Galaxy URLs are loaded when the setChosenID function on the GogProductChooserController is called.

I can't find any way to reproduce what the OP reported, and can't really see a way for it to happen as as far as I can tell the boolean controlling the change of titles should always be reset when the game card is open again.. unless something external (a script) changed something.
I love how the good people that work at GOG resolve this issue, but still their work and company are slandered with this title of the topic subject and negativity of the forum. No respect for the hard work they do to make everyone happy.

It's hilarious that the galaxy bashers have literally banned together as a bunch of bullies and are forcing their views on the populace.
