The General Discussion forum is in place for German, French, Portuguese, etc., but not Spanish, which is the third most-spoken language in the world. Are there not enough GOG customers from Spanish-speaking countries?
Just wondrin

We cannot know. It's GOG's responsibility and they didn't tell us. At some point, after introducing regional prices, they thought that having localized forums would be a good idea. So they went to some lengths in order to localize also all the game releases notifications and parts of the website (not game descriptions though). They rolled that feature out step by step and then stopped after some languages.

Their decision to choose the languages they chose was probably based on amount of customers, financial strength of customers, availability of staff with proficiency in the respective language. You see that the number of language speakers is only one issue among several.

At some point they stopped. Maybe they deemed that the effort is not worth the benefit. For example, while I like to play games in my mother language (not English) and I encourage GOG to get more languages for the games, I don't care about the language of the website and for the games specific forums I even think that any splitting by language would greatly reduce the benefit of them. We all learn English in school for a reason (it's not the beauty of the language).

For what it's worth, I actually agree. They should have started with Spanish way before any other language. Maybe they didn't have the personnel for it, a temporary lack of Spanish speakers in Warsaw maybe.

I guess now they may rather want to abolish the feature but cannot because it would look bad and so they are forced to continue with the languages they have, but not adding another one. If they add another one, for sure Spanish would be a top candidate.

Probably not enough customers is my guess, considering that we now have a Chinese-language forum.
I found it strange to see Portuguese supported before Spanish. But hey, maybe the GOG executives wanted an excuse to travel to Brazil and have their expenses payed by the company... Who am I to judge or complain?
There was a thread complaining about the lack of Spanish language:

I'm surprised there's not a General Discussion Forum in Klingon.
