Title says it.
I've been wanting to play Baldur's Gate 3 for a long time, but just haven't had the chance to shell out the money for a game that's somewhat expensive (for me) and is rarely on sale.
These past weeks, my friends got excited about the game as well and wanted to play as a party. They each bought the game, so I was kinda "forced" to bite the bullet and do so as well. But I just couldn't reasonably do it yet, so they actually pooled together to buy me Baldur's Gate 3.
This was the 31st of August. I warned my friends a sale might be coming soon and we should wait for September, but they were so excited that they didn't want to wait. Well, September comes next day and so does the largest discount yet.
I wanted to return my friends the 15€ difference in the discount, so I asked for a refund of the game to buy it back. I was really nervous since I had never did so before and was worried it might not be a valid motive or the money wouldn't refund in time.
Everything went smoothly and I got the full refund in my account 3 days later. I bought back Baldur's Gate 3 with the current discount and was able to return the difference to my friends. It will also help me somewhat as I wish to return them back fully.
I wanna thank the GOG staff for their generosity. I understand giving these voluntary refunds for DRM-free games can be a very big risk for them, so I didn't want that to go unnoticed. It might probably not be anything new to you guys around here, but I still wanted to express my thanks.
Thank you as well for GOG's amazing mission. I'll try to keep buying GOG over the mainstream competitors whenever possible and would like to donate in the future when I'm in a more favourable situation. As for Baldur's Gate 3, it's everything I wished for and more, and I'm having a blast playing it with my friends and my partner as well.
