This is a great business simulation game created by Lionhead Studios, released way back in 2005, and its expansion pack in 2006.

I want a GOG digital version, because I just can't get my physical copy to work anymore :(

So please GOG, could you make this possible? Please, sugar on top :)

Ah yes, "The Movies", and "The Movies: Stunts & Effects Expansion".
Developed by Lionhead Studios, and published by Activision, 2005 & 2006 respectively.

Lionhead is owned my Microsoft but I suspect "The Movies" IP is owned by Activision.

The games works fine on my Windows XP rig, I'm not sure about windows 7...

The main game is relatively easy to find, but the special DVD edition and the expansion pack have both sort of become collector's items.
Easily one of my top 10 games of all time. Runs good on my Win7 box, just the installer is a little fickle. Best business sim I've ever played and huge replay-ability IMO. This is the Holy Grail for me if it showed up here.
Daddy, I want another pony!
Feral Interactive released a version for the Mac a few years ago that included both the original game and the expansion. I always hoped it would release for the PC again.
Looks pretty cool! 'Voted! It looks like Lionhead Studios also made the Black and White series! It would be nice to see that on GOG as well.
YES YES YES YES YES, ALL THE YES

Make this happen, GOG!
It's a fun game.
I did not have a high opinion of the much hyped "movie maker" where you could make you own movies (using stock footage in the game) but that was always optional.
Voted! I'd love to see The Movies on GOG! If Activision has the sole publishing rights, then there's no reason for Activision not to release it on GOG, unless they don't like additional revenue streams.

The community was great for the most part. They’d run for office in a fictional city and pump out ridiculous election videos, offer their voice acting services, and some like Armake21 and Urinatingtree went on to become prominent Youtubers. AngryJoe dropped by to post his Fable 2 video back when he was just starting out.

As for the game, I wouldn’t mind seeing it on GoG either. For those who don’t know, it’s about taking a movie studio on a journey from the early 1900s past the new millennium. Actors can be renamed and have needs to be fulfilled. They age over the years making them suited to different roles. There’s a news ticket up top that gets really crazy when it passes the game’s release date.
I know this is an old thread.. but I am still hoping this happens!

Thanks for looking first. Did you cast your vote?

I never could make any movies in the game.
