i dont understand why but i can not get my gog to update

I don’t understand what you are saying. What “other” client? What do you mean you can’t get gog to update, gog is a storefront, do you mean galaxy? What errors? Have you looked at the galaxy thread?

are you by any chance referring to the (now dead) GOG Downloader, and in turn, Galaxy?

There are two versions of the Galaxy client in use. The second one is in beta, meaning testing and buggy, and the first one should be too as it buggy too.

im sorry for the lack of infromation its the downloader is telling me it needs to updated but fails to update please redownload the client to get the most up to date verson

The GOG Downloader was discontinued and is no longer supported. You will need to download Galaxy or use a third party downloader made by the community.

Or, you can just download the files directly from the website. Let’s not forget this option in the modern days of wrapping everything in clients.

Go to username, games, then expand the offline installers, and download each file from the left, don’t need the patches. It’s very simple, you can use any browser you like, can use a plugin if needed, and you don’t get all the client rubbish.
