Would love a remake or to see them fix up the old game and bring it to GoG
tried to fix up the game myself but all the CD fixes have sneaky code.
A really fun game. Downloaded and finished it from an abandonware site a couple years ago and it's an easy 8/10. Would buy it in a heartbeat.

But will probably never happen. Take Two has it and probably is tied to a movie license too...

Another thing from Take Two I'd like to see here that will probably never happen is Dark Colony (+ Council Wars).

F.A.K.K.² is a licensing nightmare. It’s a sequel to one of the sequences from the Heavy Metal animated film, which itself is an anthology of different stories based on content from Heavy Metal magazine. So yes, there are already licensing problems there. On top of that, the game uses the real likeness of Julie Ann Strain, which adds another layer of licensing issues. But the biggest hurdle is the soundtrack. The game features licensed music from bands like Pantera, Billy Idol, Bauhaus, and System of a Down. So... good luck getting all of that out of licensing hell.

That said, yes - if you really want to play it today, there are indeed ways to do so.

Correction: it's based on that utter garbage sequel to the original Heavy Metal - Heavy Metal 2000.

Yes, you are right. But Heavy Metal 2000 is based on a sequence from the first film. A step was missing. Cheers.
Also, it would make GOG look bad if they sold a game with an obscene sounding title. Well, FAKK U 2!

This is a family-friendly site.

Either way, I always loved the FAKK 2 trailer. I have the physical copy of the game but yet to play it.

It really is a great game, but as mentioned, the licensing is probably a bit of a nightmare. Which definitely isn't to say that it can't be done, but it'd be challenging.

Still, I think it's one of the best action games from that era.

Thanks for the extensive info! I guess I can forget about it then seeing it released one day(again)... It is a shame cause it is such an amazing game. I am also aware that there are ways to play it but I just don't trust these places.

It's actually based primarily on a non-Heavy Metal comic called Melting Pot, by Kevin Eastman, Eric Talbot, and Simon Bisley. Eastman later bought Heavy Metal, and when they decided to adapt Melting Pot, they heavily altered the story to focus on a heroine based on and voiced by Julie Strain.

It was, first released in the mid 1990's I think. But since the whole thing is under the Heavy Metal moniker, which published some of the episoded as well.

The 2007 Heavy Metal version is recommended.

I'd love to buy and play it here. The most I've played of it was the demo disc included with some copies of KISS: Psycho Circus the Nightmare Child.
