I would also get some separate temp monitoring programs to keep an eye on it as if the program running the fans fails it will let the cards temp rise up to about 90c + before activating the fans properly.
And yeah, it was a little bit of a boast, but more a sharing off my elation at this. I don't feel like I'm better than all the little people who don't have the luxuries I have. ;) I mean, I really don't. I am just happy for my good fortune, and wished to share some of the good feelings.
And yeah, my penis did grow 2 sizes overnight in my mind. :P

On my desktop rig, I got a GT 430.
Yep, 7 years old GPU. Works like the first day I used it. Never felt the need for more (well, almost never) and considering how fast I could get my hands on a cheap second hand later gen gpu, I wonder at times why I never did it.
But thing's this: I don't want to fix what ain't broken.
Anyway, grats on awesome present - you wife surely knows what you want.
It'll will last you an eternity (the time when its capabilities are not enough for a home computer is still a long road ahead).

Bah! My future GTX 3090X will leave that one far behind. I just need to get into some money to afford it first and Nvidia needs to release the card as well, maybe in 2020.
