Are there problems with the synchronization of the games saved in the cloud or is it just me?
Am I really the only person with problems syncing saved games?

Contact GOG support, maybe they can help.

I don't use Galaxy so I don't know if cloud sync worked for me. I play my GOG games using the standalone offline (backup) installers, without Galaxy.

As @timppu suggested, if you have encountered a problem you should report it. (I don't use Galaxy nor do I have any cloud interactions, so I can't verify if this problem affects me, since it doesn't by (my) design.)

Are you having trouble with all your saves, or just those from one game?
Only a fool will put their trust in the clouds. It might not rain for another twenty years.
I appreciate those who responded. The problem disappeared the same way it presented itself, with no idea what caused it.

I imagine another characteristic failure of a beta application.

Or merely some hiccup in the internets?

I was yesterday playing Team Fortress 2 on Steam, and twice in the row the game/Steam lost connection to TF2 content servers and I couldn't connect to the official public servers (community servers still seemed to work though). My internet connection was still working fine with a web browser.

Then sometime later, it just started working again. Sometimes these things just happen.
