with a game from 2008 i wouldnt expect much problem with using xpadder for this as it works with games from 1997, but i cant for the life of me get it to work. i would ask on xpadder forum but i cant remember my login info, i tried resetting my password, but no link was sent to my email and i cant seem to be able to contact the owner(couldnt find how) so anyway...

i saw on a website that a possible fix is to run xpadder as admin, as the game might be running in admin mode, i think that it is as(unlike my other games) it has that tiny shield next to it. but when i right click>properties>compatibility the "run as admin" box isnt checked??. im unsure if running xpadder as admin will mess up how it runs other programs that arent running as admin.

another possible theory i may have that im unsure of is trying to run compatibility in windows 8 mode??

any help will be much appreciated!!!

Well, first do not install anything to windows folders, use c:/mygames, or something like that. Then ensure you are admin.

Out of interest, why you you want to play stalker with a controller? It is a FPS, you would do much better with k+m.
Try running as Admin and adding W7 compatibility mode. Some older versions of xpadder required this on W10.

Edit: As an alternative, try AntiMicro which does the same thing and is free.

if by windows folder you mean program files? its not. its on my second hard drive which doesnt have a program files folder

i cant stand KB/M(more so keyboard) i would always be constantly looking down making sure im pressing the correct button since all keys feel the same, the button on controller are much closer and easier to tell whats what.

so running as admin in win 7 caused a big freeze for me, then it took forever to load, eventually i just quit out. just tried antimicro and no luck(i unchecked run as admin and win 7 as im scared my pc will freeze up again) BUT i then ran anti micro as admin and.........it works...kind of.....i can only move the left joystick. however in xpadder i found what seems to be a perfect game profile set up for the game, if i run xpadder as admin will it cause any issues with the game it currently works with?

I don't see why it should. I've never had any problem with xpadder. It might be worth checking to see if Windows 10 Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware, etc, stuff is interfering with it.

actually i JUST got it to work i ran antimicro as admin again and it worked like a charm!. ill try to run xpadder as admin as well...since id rather use just one program. im not really sure if antimicro was the solution or not, but i do appreciate you telling me about it as it let be test running this as admin rather then running xpadder as admin since i was nervous it would cause problems. :)
