StingingVelvet: PC gaming will always require a lot of tweaking and issues to solve, it's just the nature of the beast. Though I will say I haven't had a GOG release cause me problems in a loooooong time. I remember Zork Grand Inquisitor being the last one, and that was many years ago.
This is very true. Many people who use GOG-steam-epic-what have you and get games that more or less run after installing with a few clicks don't know how good they have it now. This is not to rag on them, but years and years back one had to edit their boot files to find ways to make games run by freeing base memory(most games needed a good chunk of the first 640k free to run), adding or removing third party drivers, make boot discs, and more intensive things like hex editing files to make them work.

Now all one has to do for many games that are system/OS compatible is just install and play, which has led to many becoming too reliant on things working out of the box(same with google and the net making people reliant on knowledge being quickly available to the point where some need to re search the same info every other day).

To keep myself sharp mentally and skill wise, I often keep track of old and new sites with tech help for games/etc & also edit config files for various games to learn new ways to do so for new config types and schemes to keep the knowledge fresh in my mind in case I need it again and cannot access the net easily.

Christosdaboss: Not happy with GOG, these games should be certified before GOG sells them. Very poor business.
Agree, GOG should come and test the game on my computer before putting them on sale. Anything less than that is just poor business.

Now I am curious how many test machines GOG uses and what processes they conduct to test various systems.

… And do they use Australian computers?

Even if they managed to get their hands on an upside down computer, it's likely quite difficult to find an upside down person in Warsaw to operate it.

Besides, ensuring occupational safety for that person might require a gravity field generator. I'm not going to bet that their offices are that advanced.

karnak1: So in that case GOG staff will not guarantee the game to work on W10 OS.
Considering it seems every other week i hear a new patch was pushed on Windows 10 that breaks other features or compatibility or games in general... Not surprising. Hard to do much when the target moves worse than iOS.

And it seems to be worse with time and more updates...
GOG will be doubling or triple the effort to ensure the games work ok in win10, ompared to other systems.

"it just works".
