I grabbed my white lab coat and was eager to contribute to your research, but I realized that I had walked into the wrong laboratory and had conducted the wrong tests! xD Rather than experiment with downloading over wifi (like you did), I mistakenly experimented with pinging my mobile connection. :P Nonetheless, here are my erroneous lab results:
While my phone is charging, alone and with no caring hand to caress it...
~ 56.14 Mbps > Average number. Was my phone suffering from separation anxiety?
While I'm holding my phone, standing before my stove, eagerly waiting for my espresso to brew...
~ 4.91 Mbps > Drastic drop! Did the lack of caffeine in my veins jinx the results?
While I stood on my balcony in boxer shorts (removed my lab coat) and using the hand that held the phone, I waved hello to a three-legged cat acquaintance of mine that strolled past my building...
~ 77.20 Mbps > That number spiked the moment that cat looked back at me. Impressive!
While I was casually aiming an endless stream of digested coffee with prestine precision into my porcelain throne, this time not using the hand that held the phone...
~ 66.90 Mbps > Filtered liquids appear to encourage good reception, is my humble observation.
