Maybe there's a relation with 1C or something? I really don't know. I actually never heard about a.i.m. Looks quite nice

we really need those AI, well at least i do, upscalers to be able to enjoy those older titles. From the look of it, not to mention the price i would like to dive into the game to get a feeling for it. in a 2024 decent 1080p manner

It is sometimes ridiculous. After dabbling around for a bit in Starfield, Veilguard and Cyberpunk of course i also gave Andromeda another chance but boy! did that game suddenly feel old. Not to mention the myriad of graphical inconsistencies that seem to appear when you try faster frame rates and such, something that seems to become more and more apparant through-out the years

you really need that little kid of yours that appreciated a certain game a lot to be able to dive back in a 20 year old title

P. Zimerickus: This forum is usually quite helpful when it comes to strolling through the paths of memory, there's of course also the 'usual suspects' that actually can help with determining what this game was not!

That said, i'm also ready to make my try :-)

I was thinking of Parkan

As it turns out there are three games.

Exempt of the Parkan Wiki

Parkan is a series of video games that combine space flight and trade simulation with first-person shooter style game play. Namely it allows players to board ships. "Parkan" is the name of the spaceship, which means boomerang for its shape.

Parkan: The Imperial Chronicles (Russian: Паркан: Хроника Империи) - the first game of the series space simulator and first-person shooter
Parkan: Iron Strategy (Russian: Паркан: Железная Стратегия) - a spin-off first-person shooter and real-time strategy and mecha
Parkan II (Russian: Паркан II) - the newest game space simulator and first-person shooter

I only played Iron Strategy myself. I know i purchased the game at one of the electronica shops in my neighbourhood. Probably as either a recommendation from PC Gamer or just a catchy cover

GoG actually also offers all three titles, all with a nice discount atm

Well i do hope this is a bit of help there weren't to many games available at that time that come close to what you are describing. if this ain't it at least you can scratch another one of your list
I started my explanation with the boarding of the ships using T, because there was no manual in the game, or i assume that the manual was printed beside the cd. I clearly remember that i could read about this feature of the game in a magazine that i did not know when i was owning the game thinking i must have tried that out too. It was a sensation to read about this trick with the T key that i could have changed vehicles with on the go. There were no character transitions between vehicle transfers with T. I clearly remember boarding another vehicle did not require me to appear as a bipedal character.

I checked Parkan using the russian names, and i could see a picture with a planet, but the planet in the game in question did not have water on it. Also the cockpit in Parkan looked like too bright, and very colorful overall compared to the title i am searching for.

I do not remember mechs specifically, but it is not impossible to be present in the game i am looking for. Maybe there were mechs belonging to the red faction, but i am not sure.

I checked Parkan 2, and there is one ship that looks like a catamaran in Parkan 2 that is very similar to a ship in the title i am looking for. In the game i am looking for this design of the ship is more aerodynamic, and shorter, and it is flewn by the alien race.
There is one mission i remember which included flying such ship through a rift on the planet with full of defensive structures. There was a time limit to get to the end, and the player must have flewn through the rift, not above it.

It is likely that there were numerous missions to the same planet using the planet's static features. It was basically like an open world game.

Parkan 2 is way too colorful, and of different style graphically compared to the game i am looking for. It is also different in a manner that i do not remember me able to play on board of the space ships. I remember that i could only play as the fighter, or the tank in the game. Maybe that was the limitation of a demo game aswel though.

Unfortunately i do not remember trading feature, but maybe because i was only able to play with the demo of it.

It was basically as simple game as an aquanox 1. It did not seem as complex as for example an x series game would be. Although that can also be the result of me playing the demo version of it.
The aim games look way too colorful, and it does not seem to be played in space, or near to the surface of an alien planet, or moon
Yeah this was it. Incoming forces :D Thank you guys :D

Actually more interesting if there was any AI bot able to "find" this game. If so... it would be somewhat terrifying because most humans without special knowledge are incapable of.

Yeah I was thinking that too, either one of the Battlezone games or one of the Uprising games.

Though he said it was not 1998, so...

thank you! although i started to look at playthroughs on youtube, and it was sort of nostalgic enough. honestly i remember better than it actualy looked, or played. i decided to not purchase the game in the end.

I would like this topic to be marked as solved, or closed.

Thank you all! You are wonderful people!
