I'm trying to contact GOG support about one of the games I ordered. Specifically, I would like to convert a game into a gift code because I changed my mind about it. It's really not my type of game anymore.

However, there is a misleading "I'm not a robot" checkbox that pretends to be selectable.

I select the checkbox then a picture is shown as a grid of pieces. Unfortunately, it's not a sliding puzzle game, otherwise I'm sure I could solve it. Instead, some of the pieces of the picture are supposed to be selected based on a category or type of object somewhere in the picture. I believe an example is given at the top, but none of the pieces look exactly like the example.

I've tried guessing but somehow I keep doing it wrong, and then it shows a new picture and requirement. I've tried skipping the pictures to find one I can do with confidence, but I think I've lost all confidence in myself with this. A jigsaw puzzle would be easier.

There is another option for audio instead of a picture. I can not tell what is being said. I've skipped and tried several audio segments. I'm not sure if any of the audio segments are even in English of any type, and I know no other languages. At least, I thought I knew English, nothing is recognizable. Maybe it's spoken backwards?

So, I'm posting a screen shot of the current picture in hopes of having the community help out. I'm not absolutely certain there are any non-robots on this forum, as apparently I'm not a non-robot either. However, maybe there will be?

If anyone else would like similar help, then feel free to post your screenshot of the picture pieces in hopes of receiving helpful replies. There might be a time limit for responding to the picture pieces, so I might need to try again later and post another screen shot. I've attached the current one: "not-a-robot_cars.jpg".

EDIT:
Finally got an easy one with three crosswalks and no extra questions. Support was real quick, and it's now resolved. Good luck to anyone else.

It's not difficult but sometimes you make a mistake because you don't see something clearly or something is at the edge of the square and you don't know whether to select it. On your example you check (click) squares 2,3,5,9. Now there are2 different kinds of puzzles, some where the squares stay the same and some where the squares change after you select them. If this is the first kind, you check 2,3,5,9 and click verify. If the squares starts disappearing and reappearing with new images, you have to check the new images with vehicles until there is none left. When you see 9 squares without vehicles, you click verify. By the way, are you interested in trading torchlight 2?

Oh. Thank you. Until there are none that match? No wonder I thought I was doing it wrong. That, and the questionable pieces. Sometimes it's a whole picture segmented into a grid, sometimes its a bunch of small pictures.

There definitely is a time limit and this one didn't stick around, so I've had to try others with your tips. Still no go, but maybe it work later after I get something to eat.

(BTW, I was figuring I'd just give it away, but I'm still thinking about the best way to do it. Sometimes people get chewed out for giving wrong, for being wrong. Usually doesn't bother me personally, I just don't want to inspire it. I'm likely over-thinking that, too.)
You cannot change a game your previously downloaded into a gift code though.
Hohoho... If only GOG would answer then this is usually not a problem.

Might be just me, but ever since the change in hand, politics in Poland changed radically (different, not in the extreme sense), and with the official move back to the home country, GOG seems to be less responsive. I bought Fallout 1 & 2 for some giveaway, and since I already HAD those I just clicked purchase without thinking and expected a mail with a gift code... that never happened. You know, Interplay classics vs the new Bethesda, those two have now different product codes in their databases.

So I tried to contact support (think this is the first time I've contacted them) and still no response. I try to remind myself that many actually take a longer vacation out rest of week 1. One can only hope. Which reminds me to actually re-read the GOG testament on those matters.

"Dear GOG, hear our prayers". Not that I'm directly religious or anything but it just sounded so right in my head, almost like being in the church :-D

So clicking; sometimes you have to keep clicking for minutes, other times only a few seconds. If my memory serves me left, whenever I need to click on road signs, it feels like I'm clicking forever compared to roads and cars, however weirdly though, I mostly get full pass if I only click the main pictures and leave out those where the edges are... there seem to be vastly differences in the amount of pics that are required and the time it takes relatively compare to the other things I have to click on.

Cars and roads are confined within each pic, and so it seems this is "easier" for the algorithm to judge on, which is understandable. That and they also include info about the IP and previous visits.

Those Turing test have been beaten a long time ago. Don't think Alan really knew how fast the development really would become even without having a distinct A.I. that goes beyond it's simple algorithms.

Thanks for the additional tips.

As for Turing, I've been thinking the he was probably being cynical. Likely the question wasn't really about whether a computer could pass as a human, but rather to point out the similarities. In other words, I think his implied question was probably along the lines of:
"When does a human communicate not like a computer?"

Though, I suggest this knowing pretty much nothing about Turing other than the phrase "Turing test". So maybe I'm the cynical one.

Sadly, these tests discriminate against robots. Someday that's going to be considered as atrocious as forbidding people's pets in restaurants. Hmm, so not very, but sort of.

Thanks for the reminder. I've been very careful to not even click on it in my library.

Since I bought it on sale, I'm suspecting that I might only get wallet funds out of it. Which would be find by me.

Worse case scenario, I just click the "hide" option. From its description it seems like a great game, but I bought it out nostalgia for the type of game it was, which I haven't felt like playing for a long time now.

I got lucky. After a few hours I went back to the window where I had written everything and tried the checkbox again. This time It asked me for "taxis". So I picked everything with yellow and it worked instantly. No need to do more than one set of pictures.

But…

I decided to review what I had written. I did some quick edits, but the checkbox unchecked it self and declared itself "expired" just before I finished editing.

So I selected it again. This time I toggled between visual and audio without trying them. There's an icon at the bottom of the panel that looks like the icon used for the volume buttons that switches to audio, and then audio panel has an icon that looks like an eye to switch to visual.

I kept toggling in hope of seeing the taxi pictures again, but instead there was a set of "crosswalk" pictures. That looked very easy, too. Turned out it was only one set of pictures just like the taxis.

Support ticket sent!

Off topic:
Is this required in Galaxy? If so, does Galaxy record success of completing the captcha as an achievement?
I got that captcha one time and never since? Did I unknowingly disable it?
Did you see this, FHTX-52667319 03?
Humans can't pass their own Captchas LOL.

I tried asking a thesaurus, but it didn't seem interested.

What is human communication? How do you separate that into semantics. pragmatics, and proper syntax for an algorithm?

Cynical? No way... he was just as healthy as Feynman's hetero skirt chasing...

It's discriminate to animals too or anyone we deem "beneath" us.

also! seen it only teh once (I think?) when i had to pick signs.  i failed becaaause I didnt r ealize i had to select the poles too.  I mean wut, come on.
I only know because of this.  But I recently also found this.

I tried selecting road signs, but halfway through I realized I was supposed to be picking only roads.  Canceled and started over, picked some roads and noticed it wanted road signs.  Way too tricky.

How did you ever guess you needed the poles?  Wow.  You must be imaginative enough for the point-and-click games.
