A bundle where I have every single game.... many times over. But a very good bundle for those who do not.
Yeah, I'll add my +1 to 'good bundle for newcomers'. I have all but Dungeon Defenders. Some really great games there for anyone that doesn't have them and wondering if they should pull the trigger.
For these games, do I need to install Steam? Or can I download straight from Humbles site?

You can do either; download and play from Humble or activate them on Steam.
Ok I have to chime in to say that Dungeon Defenders is one of my biggest disappointment in gaming (bought it long ago, twice because of steam nonsense).
The concept is fun at the beginning (even more so with friends), but the game mechanics have a major flaw ; you allocate stat points on your hero when you level up, but when you start the 'supposedly' late harde rpart, those points doesn't matter at all because you are expected to have grind (grand? grund?) stuff that with stats that completely override the character development.

Bottom line : behind a nice concept lurks a grind heavy game that is a complete mess character-development wise. In my experience, it's one of those games that in hindsight feel like a complete and utter waste of time (I would have better memories I I had just stopped after 4 hours)

I'd check if Dungeon defenders propose the same features with or without steam. I think you won't be able to trade with people playing through steamworks. I didn't play it recently so I am not sure, but this is something to check.

Dude I got all up on that bundle I already have the avarage and the last perk I just needed the first part with super meat boy! finally got a drm free copy of it :D
Glad I didn't buy World of Goo during Summer Sale :)
Only picked up the 1$ tier. The only game I want from the BTA is DRM Free Braid, but I'll be fine with my Steam copy for the time being.

Thanks and cool. Of course I just bought Risk of Rain the other day here, but the other games with their soundtracks should make up for it.

All DRM-free and Linux, what a world.
Well I got Braid, Dungeon Defenders, Dustforce and Super Meat Boy new out of this and a DRM-Free download of World of Goo since the one I got from a weekly was only a steam key.

I noted whilst adding downloads to my spreadsheet that the android download for Dungeon Defenders is only 10MB and the windows/linux ones are 5gb, I assume like The Bard's Tale its not a DRM-Free download and downloads more data from a third party site.

if you have played Sonic CD or the GTA series, you know what happens. The inital .apk is like 10 MB and then the rest is downloaded. From where I dunno.
I got the 0.01$ tier, gonna have some fun with Super Meat Boy.

Btw is anyone willing to trade Braid or Dungeon Defenders? At least the DRM free links (the android link would be great)?

Once downloaded, can the full .apk be transferred to a hard drive for storage and used henceforth as a DRM-free backup?

Also, I was wondering if anyone knew if the Dungeon Defenders DLC packages were Steam exclusive, and if they can be retroactively added into a DRM-free install after download from Steam servers (if they are indeed Steam exclusive)

It's not possible to trade DRM-Free/Android links. Someone would have to buy the BTA of the bundle to get access to them.
