At the moment the only way to invite friends is to hover over the avatar of a person here on the forum. A menu then pops up with an option for friend invite.

As far as I know Galaxy doesn't keep a list of people you've recently played with. So unless you remember their account name, you're out of luck. If you do remember their account, then from inside Galaxy it's the gear icon in the top left corner > Add games & friends > Add friends > Enter their username.
