Emob78: This is why I don't use social media, and only trust my credit card numbers to my select group of drug dealers, prostitutes, and members of foreign governments whose names I can't pronounce.

In all seriousness, the internet is a sludge pit, but it can be used for good. If you're going to get into business with someone, date someone, or do any kind of money/property/fluid exchange with anyone else, do your research first. Find out if they have a good track record or a history of STDs. As the old saying goes, 'it pays to look before you leap.'

Now I'm off to reply back to Prince Umbooki. Apparently he has 10,000 acres of prime real estate in the Saharan desert to sell me (along with a nifty bridge), and he only wants $5,000 for a down payment. That's a steal!
Coïncidentally, there was an exposé on these "west African scammers" broadcast shortly after I replied. There is an entire network peer-reviewed scamming, sort of like Ocean's Eleven for geeks. They all help to improve techniques for scamming people, their English, swap bank accounts, etc.: It's now a multi-billion US$ business model, using these payments to launder money, with vertical integration for smuggling everything, e.g., drugs.

Unfortunately, too, the OP will probably also be on a "suckers list", too, with detailed analysis of weakness and recommendations for future potential exploitation.
Happy birthday; I sincerely hope it will still be great :)

May the scammer be hit by a sudden vomit attack while sitting on a crapper!
