What i don't understand is how gog has taken a simple process and made it hard.
I should not have to take a degree in computer programming just to download and play a game.

I'm not a GOG support guy, wouldn't call myself an IT expert and have absolutely no idea what could cause GOG games to vanish from your PC. But I'm 100% sure that this isn't a problem with GOG! It's something with your computer, or something you have installed. GOG has not made it hard not to lose games you've installed. They only remove games from your accont (not your hard drive) if you've bought the keys from shady key stores where someone resold keys he bought with stolen credit card data.
ps. Didn't mean to sound harsh. I just don't get how people always think it's a scam/shady practice of a 10 years old, legit store when weird stuff happens on their machines. When DRM free games vanish from my PC (and not from my account) I know that something's wrong with my PC. Not for one second I'd think that this has anything to do with GOG (or any other trusted store that's around for years already).
pps. Yes, I know there was that Galaxy bug for some people during beta. But that's obviously something different.
