ordinarily I would agree with you, but, my anti-virus program told me that the game had been added to the safe list, and even after downloading and playing the game for 5 hrs, when I went to play it the next day, gone, ok, computer problem you say, ok, I go to my gog page, the game is there, I click on it , and it tells me I have to download it again, so, where do i go from there, download the game everytime I want to play?

The advice you've received so far here is solid. I can see only three possible culprits and they are:

1 - your antivirus
2 - your Operating System (windows)
3 - Gog Galaxy

If it was Galaxy's fault you can uninstall it and download the game's offline installer. To do this, in your account page you should ignore the huge blue "DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL NOW" button and scroll down to the offline installers. But I never heard of Galaxy uninstalling the games (without the user ordering it to, of course). I even remember Gog staff stating that if Galaxy finds a Gog game on your HD it doesn't validate against your account to see if you own it.

The OS as the culprit would be annoying and supposedly you wouldn't be able to do much about it (short of replacing it, which is always a lot of hassle). But it doesn't sound likely. We would be swimming in complaints and reports of missing games if the OS most used worldwide suddenly deleted games without as much as a hint of what it was doing and why.

If it is your antivirus's fault you'll have some work ahead of you because I don't know how you can configure it properly. Every antivirus is different. Hopefully you'll find documentation that helps you.

My theory, based on your report, is that your antivirus is a major piece of crap.

Yes, computer problem. GOG surely didn't delete the game from your computer.

What do you mean when you say it's telling you to download it again? GOG (the website) doesn't have any way to see which games you have installed. The website will always tell you to download your games, since this is all you can do in your library on GOG.com - or is it GOG Galaxy that's telling you to download the game?

Do you have Galaxy instaled? Do you use Galaxy? Galaxy can detect games you've downloaded on the website and installed with the offline installers. Maybe there's something weird going on between your AV and Galaxy... Just a wild guess.

Just keep the installer, so you don't ave to download it every time you want to play. You'll only have to install it every time you want to play ;P

Nah, seriously, that's not a solution... But without any further information, no one here will be able to help you. With the information you gave us, this could be anything. Starting from "Game gets deleted from poor dude's PC" up to "Dude's launching the game from the installer after installation is finished, doesn't have a desktop shortcut and doesn't know where to find the game after closing it". Thing is... I don't know you. You could be some guy who has dealt with memory optimization and sound cards on DOS (an ancient form of magic) or you could be some guy who can't install a game without the help of a client software (however you managed to install the client).

So... Let's try something very basic: Where did you install the game? Do you remember the path (something like C:\games\whatever)? Is there anything left of the game when you go there?

Same for me. I've never had a single issue with any of my GOG games.
