Not going to quote everything.

Video is objectively inferior unless you are bringing something to the table which can only be done there. And like I said, there are three good reasons not to watch a video on Youtube. Also, I read the title and your posts. There was enough of a basis there to write something.

So, because most people didn't bother addressing you or the thread at hand means it's not frowned upon? Considering that you registered in 2009, and I assume you have been in forums beforehand, you should know better. Granted, GOG's forum is really bad but that shouldn't change anything.

Youtube has a character limit? I'm talking about the thread title. Let me see, your thread title is:

"How Recettear changed PC Gaming Forever" followed by things such as:
"I have a small YouTube channel dedicated to gaming and retro gaming and today I decided to talk about an event in PC gaming that I feel most people don't realize: That 2010's Recettear actually changed PC gaming." <-- no mentioned of (JRPG) PC gaming in the West
"In the video, I make the argument this was the game that brought the JRPG genre to PC." <-- again no mention of PC gaming in the West
"It doesn't change the fact Japan ignored the platform as a whole and Recettear was the game that changed all that.

Compare the JRPG offerings on PC before and after Recettear, the difference is night and day.

Honestly, the fact you have to RPG maker games as example of JRPGs on PC before recettear kind of makes my point for me. " <--- no mention of PC gaming in the West either
"Recettear was a commercial and critical success. It was the game that brought the genre to PC. Even XSeed admitted Recettear was the reason they started bringing games to PC." <-- no mention of PC gaming in the West

None of those sentences was addressed at me but you still conveniently left it out (likely to make it sound stronger). There is not a single sentence where you write the full truth. After all, it sounds less lurid otherwise and has a lot less of a point.

Oh? Posting that was so hard? Something like that should have belonged in the OP. I mean, first of all, I wouldn't have been interested, as JRPGs released on Western PCs is very limited and as such, uninteresting, especially because it draws an arbitrary line. Add to that that gamers didn't have to "wait" for two years. They could have just imported the titles themselves or bought it from reporters. It was common for console games and it was available for PC games.
You could have just addressed the very first thing I wrote in this thread: "Are you talking about Western releases exclusively?" Instead, you ignored it while writing in a way that says that you are talking about JRPGs on PCs in general on every single occasion.

Fair enough, I didn't re-read the posts that came before my first one (it was really late and I wanted to go to bed) and had already blanked them out as not important or giving information (the point addressing you about Dragon Knight III aside).

User score really doesn't matter. People get downvoted by bots, so whether he has 50000 or -180 points is a moot point when it comes to arguments.

Like I said, you didn't need to reiterate. You would have had to write like three whole points. Done in a minute. Also, like I said several times already: I addressed your posts in the thread, not what you said in the video. If you can't articulate properly in writing, it's your fault, not mine.

If you believe that you never addressing any of my points where I call out your writing in this thread while you are going just: "Nana, not telling you, watch the video" is humiliating myself, you have a very weird interpretation of that.

Haha I like how you're not only admitting you were wrong, you're now actually changing the goal posts. Nevermind the fact you're calling everyone in this thread uninteresting.

I also love how now you're not even trying to counter the claim I made in my video. All because you were too stupid too infer context.

The video was made in the west and it was inferred that it refers to JRPGs in the west

Gotta love how you're going around talking about forum etiquette when literally no one cares

You stated before you don't use these forums much, I hope you reduce your forum usage even further, because quite frankly z you've proven to be an antagonistic, ego-driven person and the forums will only be better without your presence

Orkhepaj: Recettear? has anybody heard of this game before?
I was thinking this too, I didn't even know this game existed until this thread. I find it hard to believe that some ultra-obscure japanese managerial game/RPG changed anything.

It was the first game to prove there was a market for JRPGs in modern PC gaming. Even Xseed has gone on record to say Recettear was the reason they brought the Ys games and legend of heroes to PCs in the west ^^

What are you even talking about? It's not relevant to the matter at hand that two other people said something positive about the video on the first page. Also, you should learn to read properly, as your first whole paragraph is just straight up nonsense.

I didn't watch the video, so of course I wouldn't counter any claim? I countered everything written by you in this thread until you said what the video is about. And when it comes to that, what I said in my very first post in this thread obviously still stands. "Recettear is only relevant as a Japanese game that was sold on Steam early and garnered success." So it was important for Japanese games in general, not just JRPGs (and here it becomes relevant that it's not really a JRPG but a hybrid of two different genres).

Welp, wasn't referred in this thread and to be absolutely sure, I even asked to which I got no reply. So blame yourself.

Oh, that's rich, coming from the person advertising his Youtube video/channel instead of actually contributing to the forum in a manner relevant to it (aka in text form). People like you are the reason why it's mostly pointless being in forums these days as they mostly spam and don't do anything else.

/edit: What is think is funny and basically happens every time with people like you: First, they always ignore your callouts and never address them (like you did), then they try to shift arguments around (like you did) and they take "wins" wherever they can get them, no matter how small or if they are even connected to the actual topic (like you did). Some things really never change...

It's completely relevant and I don't think I should take reading lectures who said no one liked my video despite the overwhelmingly positive reception I got and that I always get when I self-promote on gog.

You've literally been posting non-sense since you got here. Though I can't complain, thanks to you, this thread is still on the first page 3 days later and according to the YouTube analytics, I keep gaining new subscribers from GOG, so I should thank you for making my self-promotion thread a massive success ^_^

You can't counter a claim if you don't know what the argument is. This is debate 101. I DO assume you studied debate?

Recettear is more relevant than that, it paved the way for all the major developers and publishers. It was an important stepping stone that allowed to bridge the grap between Japanese devs and PCs in the west.

You got no reply because you were rude and antagonist. If you want to be treated like an adult, act like one.

My video created a lively and healthy discussion until you decided to highjack the thread. But again, I can't complain, you're actually helping me far more by being just the right of arrogant and dumb.

And now you are putting words in my mouth even. Just more evidence of you trying to change arguments. And yeah, "overwhelmingly positive reception", haha, that was a good one.

I'm not going to repeat myself yet again since you will ignore it as always.

Uh, congratulations on repeating what you cited directly from me?

Ahh yes, the discussion of what constitutes a JRPG. Done a thousand times before. I'm sorry I somehow interrupted that.

Just read your own text for once, especially in relation to what you are replying to.

/edit: Anyway, as you say, it's bad of me to indirectly promote people like you. Have to stop doing that, despite being baited by you with different kinds of bad behavior.

Read the first page of this thread. The reception to the video was positive. Only two people complained, you and a dude with a negative score of 180.

Both of you were toxic, rude and kept missing the mark with every argument you made.

You seriously don't know what "Citation needed" means? Oh God, you're even dumber than I thought you were.

So you DO admit here was a discussion at hand and that you broke it. Congratulations on being the asshole that killed a discussion then.

Please leave these forums and never come back. You are a negative influence and offer nothing of value to the community.

I create, you destroy. I start discussions, you moan and cry until everyone leaves.

You've proven time and time again you have the reading comprehension of a toddler. I'm going to assume English isn't your first language, which is fine, but if you can't even understand basic English, perhaps the issue lies with you and not with others.

You brought this on yourself with your toxic behavior
