The latest patch for Raiden Legacy caused more problems than it fixed. I want to use the original version, but I can't figure out how to rollback to that.

I've selected Manual Updates in the Galaxy client for that game, which should enable the rollback feature. But after selecting it I can't actually find any button anywhere that lets me use it. Is this not actually implemented yet or what?

If rollback is enabled, you will have it available once you go and switch the Install Updates selection to Manually.

Not all games have this option, apparently. I just checked with the few I have installed.

I can rollback Feist up to five previous versions, for example, and Incredipede to none.

I suggest you try another game if you have it installed and verify this for yourself and contact support in case you want a definitive answer.

Thanks. It looks like that although Raiden Legacy has had two versions of the game uploaded to GOG (the initial release and the patch), the rollback option is not available for some reason. Even if I download the initial release and install it manually myself, the game will update to the latest version automatically as soon as I launch the GOG client.

I will report it to support and hopefully they can fix this, because I'd rather not have to choose between either playing that game or using the client.
No problem, buddy! :)

Yeah I really hope they stick to that principle - let us download prior versions regardless of when we bought the game. I care a lot about game history and that feature is very appealing to me.
I know. I actually was not fully aware of it until you asked i.e. I did not have the need to rollback so far. It should be available for all games that have had a change or a version upgrade... :/

If you don't mind, when you get an answer, you can let us know about it in this thread?
Sure. :)

GOG support finally got back to me on rollback support for Raiden Legacy. Unfortunately they're saying it's an unsolvable problem, which seems silly to me.

Even though GOG has both the base game and the update on their servers, apparently it's impossible to play Legacy without the update unless you never launch Galaxy after the base game has been installed.

To clarify, my colleague responded that "rollback wasn't configured with this game". Normally, rollback is set up automatically once a new version is added to the system. In this case, I'm pretty sure the patch for Raiden Legacy got added way before rollback in Galaxy went live.
My colleague then described a workaround - downloading the offline installer without applying the patch afterwards.
In hindsight, he should have described the root cause in more detail, though. Sorry about that.

That being said, I will ask our techs if they can set up Raiden Legacy manually, so that the update can be rolled back. Since this patch is unusual in that the previous version works better for some, it would make a lot of sense to let Galaxy users roll back to it conveniently.
So thanks for bringing this up, and please forgive any inconvenience caused in the meantime. :)

Thank you for the expanded explanation. The Raiden Legacy update was definitely issued before Rollback was implemented, even before Galaxy existed.

The easiest solution I can think of would be to simply let us set Manual updates for a game before we actually install it, or to have Galaxy remember the Manual/Automatic setting instead of resetting to Automatic every time the game is uninstalled. Either of these fixes would solve the problem not only for Raiden Legacy but also for any other GOG games.
