Hi,
I bought Horizon Zero Dawn through GOG and received v1.0.10.5 but I learn on Steam that v1.1 has been released. When I launch the game it doesn't auto-update and there's no option in Settings to update it. How does one go about downloading the latest game updates please?

Are you using Galaxy? It should be automatic, if you using offline installers then you should manually download them from your games here on the web page, or the offline installers in the "Extras" tab in Galaxy. I know for the What did just update thread that the game ia up to date but I don't have it.

There are a couple of patches at the end of the installer files list that might do the trick.

@Ruvika
Thanks for your suggestions however, following advice I received from members of this community, I uninstalled Galaxy and installed via the offline installers.

@Melvinica
I checked the offline installers in my account but the patches available are all the same as those I originally downloaded. Perhaps GOG has not yet added the latest patches?

No idea about the version installed through the Galaxy client, but at least the offline installer changelog claims the current version to be 1.11 (updated 8th of December 2021).

Patch 1.11 (8 December 2021)
We’re happy to announce we’ve just released Patch 1.11 for our PC players. We appreciate all of your wonderful support and feedback and are proud to bring you this update. Here’s what this patch contains:
Graphical Improvements
Added Nvidia’s DLSS upscaling technology.
Added AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution, replacing FidelityFX CAS. UI Changes
Adjusted settings screen to facilitate the addition of DLSS and FSR.
Render Scale option has been removed but same result can now be accomplished by adjusting setting Upscale Method to Simple and adjusting Upscale Quality.
Performance Improvements
Improvement to the shader management system. This will result in a few noticeable differences:
There is no longer a shader pre-compilation step on startup. The game will always compile shaders during loading and in the background.
Stutters during gameplay that used to occur due to background shader compilation have now been significantly reduced.
Because shader compilation is still happening in the background you may notice the game having a higher CPU utilization while that is happening.
Loading screens will wait for the required shaders to be fully compiled. This may cause loading screens to take somewhat longer on certain systems.
On higher spec machines with faster CPUs the loading screens will typically be shorter, due to more efficient shader compilation that better leverages high-end CPUs.
Please ensure your game is up-to-date before heading back out into the wilds, and reach out to us if you’re still experiencing any issues. We wish you a fun-filled festive period!

According to GOGDB the game got the latest patch, just under another name!
It's easy to know, if you have the FidelityFX option, then you have the latest version, I can't check because I don't have the game.

I do not have that option but I am not running an AMD graphics card so I suppose that is normal.

Should I just download all files again and attempt a reinstall?
If I do that will it overwrite all my previous game saves?

You don't have the "upscale method" option in the display tab of the game? You should have it even if you don't have and AMD or RTX card.

No, I don't have it. The only thing close is "Render scale".

Weird, try to ask if somebody could confirm that the game is up to date, it should but I don't own the game to confirm it or denied it.

Render Scale is effectively lowering the quality in order to make it run faster while maintaining FPS. I suppose something like simulating a lower resolution and making it chunkier on screen.

Adaptive FPS will try to maintain a framerate by adjusting the scale on the fly, so you'll get very detailed sections and far less detailed at different times.

The reason Ruvika asked whether I had the "Upscale Method" option under the game's display tab was supposedly to identify if I have the latest version of the game. I replied I only have "Render Scale" meaning I do not have the latest update, and that's what I'm trying to get. Because I used the offline installers, the game will not auto-update.

This is what the game's display options (HZD 1 &2.jpg) look like with the latest patch and an Nvidia card. I used the offline installers to update with no issue. In my case I needed the three "Patch (6278995 to 7400739)" files and the singular "Patch (7400739 to 7458568)" to update to the latest version.

GOG galaxy had also offered to update the game though (Update button is right beside play), so you should be able to use either. If you don't have HZD available in Galaxy you can add it manually through the settings option in the upper left corner of the galaxy interface.

Thank you for your reply Crimson_T. I keep saying I do not use Galaxy therefore it is impossible for me to update the game through that.

I have attached a screenshot of what my game's display settings look like. They clearly are the previous version.

I have all 6 of those patches already downloaded. The most recent (740039 to 7458568) gives an error message "This patch is not compatible with your game" if I try to install it by itself. I'm convinced that as the game files and that patch all now have the ID 7458568, the only way to update the game is to download all the game files and reinstall and that's why I asked if doing so would make me lose all my previous game saves? I backed them up anyway so maybe I could add them back manually?
