isisprince: Yes, I buy new games on steam. I buy classic games here. Occasionally I purchase from blizzard or origin.
tfishell: Okay, thanks for answering. Do you buy
any new games on GOG (I suppose "new" is relative), or do you prefer to have as many games as you can on Steam?
I feel bad answering these questions! To be honest, for brand loyalty, I genuinely like the GOG crew. All of my interactions with them have been positive, I think they actually like video games, and their ability to restore games is unparalleled. Nobody else can do what they do.
But there are a few things that Steam does well. I like the Steam workshop. I like that I can get up-to-the-minute patches for Indie games. And I also like achievements, even knowing they are kind of silly. It's nice getting that toast on the bottom of your screen congratulating you for something, especially in single player games. It's also a way of… memory. Remembering that time when you took down the boss at the end of your favorite titles.
Now, I also want to say, I have spent a lot of money here. So nobody should feel bad. I love GOG, I plan on sticking around for a long time, and I hope that they restore more old titles. Almost the entire library that I have here would be considered "old games." And that's not bad. I like them. :-)
