voorhees_13: I have a folder in AppData/Local called GOG.com, with subfolders called Galaxy/Applications/a bunch of numbers/RemoteConfigCache/and then a JSON file called remote_config_cache_production_worldwide.json
I've signed into the GOG website, but other than that, I've never downloaded Galaxy at all. How did the folder get here?
Just to "confirm" that on this Windows 10 PC where I am writing now, to which I have installed many GOG games with the standalone installers but never installed Galaxy, and obviously visited the GOG site lots of times with the Chrome browser, I searched for "gog" or "galaxy" under AppData and didn't find anything related to Galaxy installation.
So merely visiting the site with your web browser or using the offline installers shouldn't by default add such Galaxy stuff there, I presume. Then again I can't be sure for all offline installers, naturally. Currently I have these GOG games installed (through the offline installers):
Battlefleet Gothic Armada
Defcon
Disciples 2
Disciples 2 - Rise of the Elves
Dungeon Keeper Gold
Dungeon Siege
Dungeon Siege 2
Icewind Dale 2
Imperialism
Mafia
Might and Magic IX
Mortal Kombat
Star Wars - Dark Forces
Star Wars Jedi Knight - Dark Forces 2
Star Wars Jedi Knight - Mysteries of the Sith
StarTopia
Two Worlds Epic Edition
Wizardry 8
voorhees_13: Haven't bought a game on GOG yet. I have the first Witcher, which is downloaded on Steam, and I haven't played since April. The folder was made in August.
You haven't tried e.g. the Steam version of GWENT? I seem to recall some reports it would install a Galaxy client (and require the Steam user to create a Galaxy/GOG account)?
