I've tried a lot of things: Changing file names, editing file paths, editing Oblivion_default.ini, editing the goggame-1458058109.info but nothing I do works. It's like Galaxy is actively circumventing my changes and it's getting annoying.

Anyone able to assist? :)

My post didn't seem to go through. Anyways obse is just an exe you drop into your oblivion install folder. So swapping out oblivion.exe for obse.exe should work. Although why are you not running through mod manager? As for galaxy, I don't know as I wouldn't install that garbage on my machine.
Well my only reason is that I like logging my play hours and doing it through the mod manager doesn't do that.

Just swapping OBSE and Oblivion.exe doesn't do anything other than trow up an error message that Oblivion has an unsupported version.

Try a different obse build. I noted on sky rim that some obse versions only work with certain versions of the game. I do t know off the top of my head which one you need, in oblivion it should tell you the version of oblivion. As for time recording, really don't understand the need. I have wasted most of my life playing computer games, don't need reminding!

There's only one OBSE build that works with GoG Oblivion and that the newest version with a patched OBSE.exe.
Unfortunately, since OBSE isn't a replacement .exe, you can't just rename it. The OBSE.exe calls Oblivion.exe to run, so if Oblivion.exe isn't what it expects, it will give you the error (and it obviously would be a different .exe than expected as it is the OBSE.exe with a different name). So if editing the config file for Galaxy doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you. I also had the same problem with Arx Fatalis and the Arx Liberatis mod. I eventually had to concede that it wasn't going to happen.

EDIT: Did you ensure that Galaxy was completely exited when you made the edits to the info files?

... I have to do that? :|

Edit: Hurrah! I works. :D

I edited the .info file, but it didn't work until I replaced the OblivionLauncher with Obse_Launcher. (I did that before but it didn't work, now it did.)

Thanks for the help. ^_^

Not necessarily, but it can't hurt to have it rescan those files after you change them.

EDIT: Huzzah! Glad it worked!

For future reference: How does one rescan the files?
Well, I try to scan the folders (under the GOG icon at the top left) but that apparently doesn't do anything right now as it wouldn't even detect my installed copy of Arx Fatalis (that was originally Galaxy installed). so I don't know at this time.

Oh. Thanks.
