Just mark it as a gift purchase before checkout. Then you can either send the code to the mail of the person who should get it or enter your own E-Mail adress. That way you'll get a code that you can give away in the future.

Should it be with a "?" instead of "!"?

1. Purchase a game you already own on GOG (automatically handleded as gifts) or when purchasing a new game make sure to tick the "gift this order" box.
2. The most reliable meathod is to send the gift to your own email and then send the code to the person you want by chat - if you'er gifting it to another GOG user (and you don't know their email).

If you want to gift it to someone who doesn't use GOG, send it to their email and have them create a GOG account to claim the gift via "redeem code" option.

You can also post an extra game code on forums, if you want.

To be clear, I think new users who've spent less than a certain amount are still restricted from purchasing gifts. I believe it's meant to make GOG less useful as a store from which scammers can use stolen credit card numbers to buy gift codes to flog on gray-market sites like G2A and Kinguin.

Not only the amount, there's also time restriction :(

As stated in checkout, in order to gift games, you need to have purchases, worth at least $10 / €9.19 / £6.69 / A$13.99 / 719.00 RUB / 55 DKK / 70 NOK / 65 SEK / 30 PLN / C$ 10 / 10 CHF, made at least 3 months ago. Unfortunately we are unable to lift this limitation, but in some cases we might be able to help manually. Please contact us via the support form for more information.

Up.

I want to buy a game as a gift, send the mail to my own mail address and transfer it in a few weeks to the final user.
Is there a time limit between the day when I buy the game and the day when the game is redeemed by the final user?

Thanks in advance for sharing knowledge!

J_1979:
Gift codes you spend your money on don't expire. Well, technically they expire on on Dec 31, 2199, 11:00 PM but I suspect that's not a problem. ;)

What could be a potential issue, is that if a game is de-listed (from GoG) some time between the purchase date and the expiry date of said code, you could/may/will be left with a code that has no game to redeem it against. I guess a refund/credit would be the next course of action, if that were to happen...

Incorrect.

Gifted codes last forever, even if the game is pulled.

I speak from much experience.

Might even have one or two still lying around...

Well, that was not my experience when such a case happened to me...

May I ask which game you are talking about? I gifted a lot of games that were pulled from the store and there never was a problem.

Well, it wasn't a full game, but rather the Timberborn game demo...

Timberborn demo is a special case where they completely removed all traces of the demo from their database, even going so far as to remove it from player libraries. A delisted game, on the other hand, remains in the libraries of those who have already purchased it and can be claimed via gifts.

So it can and has happened then, 'Special case' or otherwise...
