sometimes i'm such a sucker for art, especially those outings edging on the sides of sanity

othercide with its grey world, strokes of red and sometimes anime influenced girl faces steamed of with names profound in christianity for example but also total war three kingdoms, as a more traditional form with its lush mountains, beautifull world and cultivated art.. though the research menu should have included a dragon and not only a branching tree, clouds .. anyway

this ( look at the attached image ----> https://www.gog.com/upload/forum/2020/09/331e280671312b996c2cfabd22fb98a381106e4e.jpg)

this is wild, tempting, insane and promising in so many ways, not the least with that stupid pricing.. Gee Rad, will you purchase the dlc on epic osting you 24 euro's or do you want to buy the game again, complete for 6 euro's more and get some achievements while your at it not to mention some distance from evil Chinese people that want to use your statistics and information for the better of their revolution

did or do you buy games sometime purely based on the verdict " damn this looks good? "

I'm sorry, I really don't want to sound insulting or anything, but I don't know if it's your english or if I'm just tired or what, but I barely understand anything of the OP. It seriously comes off as some half-insane rambling.

All I can gather is that it's supposed to be some super awesome art... and it's just a generic, unremarkable portrait of a woman. I'm very confused.

As to the more specific question

If you mean the graphics/art style of the game itself - sure. Quite a few times probably.

If you mean some promotional art - hell no. Half the time the art has nothing to do with how the game even looks like. In fact, I absolutely hate seeing some nice art from a new release here, clicking on it, and finding out it's some generic retro pixel art game.

No, no offense taken, the english used in the first part of the OP could probably only pass for certain english speaking groups of people around the world ;)
if it's influenced by anime I wouldn't be interested, anime is degenerate and weird imo.

Sometimes. Most often it's if other factors are met(like good length of SP portion, good save system, etc), but some rare times I buy games if they look good enough.

Also a sidenote: the game you show, which is based on the SCP wiki online btw, is a very good game from the small bit i've played. Some shooting, exploring, weird stuff, etc....very nice so far.
