Ice_Mage: What happens if you disconnect from the Internet prior to starting GOG Galaxy? Does the game still fail to work when launched via GOG Galaxy then?
Yes, same issue. It still loads the game into the main menu, but no options work or do anything.

Darvond: I'm going to Invoke X to Doubt since I can run House Flipper just fine via WINE and it doesn't seem to balk about anything even though I'm certain that there's no networking protocol (it understands) availed to the game.

ettac orrazib si eman ym: I'm guessing you've not read the whole thread. Seems to be a Galaxy problem.
Yeah, I would change the title but I can't.

Ok, this needs to be fixed, but since it only occurs in the Galaxy version, I think it's a bug, not a feature. And the offline version isn't affected and is, therefore, free of this probably accidental online requirement

I just tried, I downloaded the two files version 1.21355 (2061f), disabled my Ethernet card, installed and started the game. I was able to play the first two missing without issues.

.Ra: several games have drm on gog. this isn't a first. gog supports drm and has for a while now.

wolfsite: If that was true they wouldn't have removed Hitman: Game of the Year Edition.
That's not necessarily true. GOG removed Hitman GOTY solely because it caused a huge backlash at a time when they couldn't afford one.

But that doesn't mean GOG doesn't support DRM. They certainly do in some cases. There is still DRM in Cyberpunk 2077 on GOG, for example. And GOG still never canceled their deal to sell EGS-DRM'ed games through Galaxy, for example.

So to say that GOG does not support DRM, that is objectively untrue.

Okay let me rephrase that, if they were pro DRM they would have left the game up despite the backlash.

Can't comment on the Epic deal as that seems to be more about the philosophy of what Galaxy is meant to be, all your games in one place so that may come down to more of what people see Galaxy as..... honestly they should just rename GOG Galaxy to just Galaxy and separate it from GOG.

Thank you. Sounds like a definite bug then. Starting GOG Galaxy without an Internet connection places it in offline mode. It's normally still possible to launch and play singleplayer games that way.

Every Galaxy game SHOULD work like the "DRM free" Steam and Epic games, i.e. remove the client and move the files and the game still works just fine. If not then there's a problem, though I am sure it's unintentional.

One thing I have noticed about you dude, is that you often claim things without any facts, making ASSumptions.

And no, it wasn't me who downvoted you, though you have probably begun to deserve it in some minds ... not from me though, I'm not that childish

You need to think things through properly, and get your facts right, and don't just jump to the first easy negative thought that comes to mind ... things are mostly more complex than that.
