I just want to do what little I can to spread the word about this new Lord of the Rings fan-film, Horn of Gondor. Fan films are always rather hit and miss, and there's not many Tolkien fan films at all, so to get a new one and one of such quality (at least I think it's really fantastic) is a rare treat.

Hope you guys will enjoy it as much as I did, and leave a kind word for the people who made it. After all, with enough encouragement maybe they'll make more :)
The horse deserves an Oscar.

It's sad Tolkien will never release any more books :(
Already better than the TV series that's in the works at/for Amazon. At least given the bits and pieces that's known of it, and some of that leaving room to be worried.

Weapon sounds are a bit thin and could have used a little more oomph and the english overdubs were a little too obvious, but other than that, pretty good. Especially in the giving-off-LOTR-vibes department.

I didn't really mind the dubs. Especially as it still was better acting than in most fan films, and by quite a margin. But yes, what I loved about its that it just felt so right. Also really good music. I think the credits song is great.

And yeah, I don't think the Amazon series will even try to capture this mood. But that's a worry for another time. This proves that there are passionate, creative people who really get it, and that's more important than whatever Amazon farts out.
